Yep it was GM's experiment with electric cars . They scrapped most but gave some of the parts to schools so they could experiment some more

Yep. Gm's electric car concept that was scrapped. Subject of the documentary "who killed the electric car" [note, has heavy bias, like Michael Moore films].

The EV1 is the spiritual successor to the Chevy Volt coming out n the 2010 model year.
