  1. It's still relevant & prevalent today. Not only with banks/loans, but with supermarkets also. Lower income areas do not have the same options for food shopping as more affluent areas. This forces people with little money to buy food at neighborhood stores or convenience stores, often at much higher prices.


  2. Yes I have. It's the practice of systematically refusing loans for housing in undesirable neighborhoods (Eitzen,2003:151)

    Yes it still matters but it depends on the situation and it definitely matters to the person who needs the loan.
