No, I've never helped a person, but I did help a dog once.

It actually felt really good after all the worrying of calming him down and getting him to a safe place for a while before you look for his home.

Well, he is in his home right now and safe from cars and stuff.

No. I think modern people can be helpful and want to be helpful, but our towns and neighborhoods have so many dangers that it's hard to tell when someone is truly in need of your help or if they're just trying to trick you. A couple decades back, I thought everyone seemed more trustworthy and the neighborhoods were much safer.
