I was golfing once with my brother and another dude and heard a loud smashing noise after slicing my drive. I teed up again and did the same thing with more noise. With only 3 holes left I decided to walk back the long way to the clubhouse because there was no way I was walking past that house. I found out later the lady yelled at my brother and said I broke bothy panels of her patio door. I know it was chicken s. but I had no money back then. I hope that lady doesnt go on YA.

  1. I was golfing with two guys at Glen Oak (?) near Buffalo NY. One guy was playing from the tips. He sliced a ball and hit a grill and then a window. It made a loud smash and ding.

Needless to say I was scared $hi#less.

The guy who hit the shot, he wasn't. He went over the fence, onto the lawn, past the security sign, over the rail to the porch and got his ball. He came back and told us "the ball was like four dollars, I'm not losing this!"

    What a moron!

  2. You should be ashamed of yourself.  I play at a public couse lined with houses and it is very obviously stated that the "golfer is responsible" for any damage to personal property by errant shots.  This would be a course by course thing, but to just bail shows a huge lack of character on your part.  You should always go by see if there is anyone there, apologize and offer to pay for any damage.  Most of the time the homeowners insurance will cover it, so you won't end up with the bill.  Golf is a game of honor and I don't think there is a place for you in it.

  3. The first time that  I hit something not on the course was when I was about 14, a soft drink truck was coming down the road and I hit the side of the truck and it sounded like a bomb had gone off.  I have never been able to hit a shot with a vehicle approaching me since.  Another time, while I did not hit anything, I was playing and my hook was in rare form.  It was slow that day and a older couple was playing right behind my foursome.  About the 15th tee the man walked up to me and said that 3 years ago they had purchased a house on the course and had played almost everyday since.  He told me that and said that he had seen me that day in places that he did not know was part of the course.  So don't worry about shots that don't go where you want them to just remember you are playing golf and there is no one who hits every shot the way they want.  Good Luck and have FUN

  4. Well-you cant change the past..just in the future think about it when somebody vandalizes something of yours-karma..

  5. hey, course i play is right next to a road and we hit cars all the time.. my friend hit a bmw, ouch

your not responsible for the damage so have fun wacking houses

  6. You baled for no reason. You weren't responsible for the damage. The homeowner is responsible. It's an assumed risk to own a house along a golf course. You'll probably get a lot of responses to the contrary but don't believe it.
