shadow person?

I think that I may have, years ago..and here I just thought that it was a "house protective demon" or something like that!!

It didn't move...but, it scared me soooo badly that I couldn't scream, or move! I am really hoping that I don't have to see that again,.,...ever!!

What about you all? What did or have you seen, that was "really there" and you just couldn't explain it!?

What did YOU do?

thanks!

  1. Don't like the feeling I get with the Shadow People, but they say that they are harmless.  (I would just like to know who they are???) Both the Shadow People and the ones that say they are harmless.

  2. well this depends on your perception and allowance of a connection.  Personally, I have connected with other dimensional focuses, but dealing with unknowns is a bit of an unsettling matter....lol

  3. Possible logical explanations for you believing you saw a "shadow person," assuming there was no "real" person casting that "shadow..."

        1.  You were on LSD or Mushrooms or were sleep deprived from Meth at the time of the "sighting..."

        2.  Your mentally ill and/or there's something wrong with the "sight" part of your brain...

        3.  An actual person WAS casting the shadow...you simply couldn't see where they were standing at the time of the "sighting..."

        4.  A piece of furniture (like a tall hat or coat-rack, or other) was casting the shadow in the shape of a human...you just couldn't see the piece of furniture from your viewpoint...

        5.  You have a vivid imagination, and wanted so much to see something paranormal, you invented the whole thing in your mind on a fanciful-whimsy (or lied) until now, many years later, your memory has been changed, and you remember it as a "real" occurrence...

        6.  There ARE actually "shadow people," and now that you've seen them, you're marked for death by a "shadow person hit-man," who is at this very moment, waiting for you to make a fatal mistake by allowing yourself to be found alone in a shadow cast by the light of the full moon at midnight next Halloween...

        (Doo Wah!!! Doo Wah!!!)

         Hope this helped......depleh siht epoH

(p.s. Be sure to watch out for the "Mirror People," too...)

  4. Since you asked this in the Science & Math category, I'll respond with a scientific viewpoint.

"Shadow people" are merely tricks of light and vision. I've seen the phenomenon a couple times myself, both out of the corner of my eyes and one time in full view. These tricks of light can be a little mysterious at first, but if you're willing to investigate instead of spooking yourself, you'll find a natural cause for it. I did. Light and shadow have an amazing ability to fool human vision. The visual cortex of the human brain can be easily fooled by optical illusions, which is why they work so well on us.

Recent neurological research has also uncovered neurological reasons why we might sense "shadow people". Please see the link.

  5. yup,...I see them all the time, especially after  that 4th evening cocktail. I don't bother them and they just go away

  6. Well, I have seen what you might call a "shadow person". It was when I was 6 and 14. It was the same person. I eventually came to find out that it was my step-brother's father who died when he was two (I was 4). It really freaked me out when I realized who it was.

Of course, about a year after the last time I saw "him", my step-brother died in a car crash. :'(

  7. There are such things as "protective demons" - all demons are destructive.

Yes. I've seen shadow people. I don't think they are an entity unto themselves. I think they are just another way paranormal entities may be seen by the average joe.

  8. I have one it happened when I was in 5th grade. I was in the daycare thing after school because my mom had to work late. Well it was around 5-7 pm and our daycare people decided to let us go up into the school. So me and the few friends that were still there decided to play hide and seek. I walked past this hallway with a doorway made of glass that goes onto the porch where you used to be able to wait for your parents. Just as I looked over there because I had a very strong and sudden need to look over there I saw a dark shadow of a man walk up to the door and peer in. Which was odd because it looked like he was in shadow which is impossible by the way the light was shining. Then this kid that always picked on me and fought with me on multiple occasions came over and said who is that. I replied "I have no idea" then he said that he had a strange feeling like something was making him sad, scared, and angry at the same time. After that experience we never fought again became good friends. As I typed this I remembered it so much it actually brought a few tears to my eyes which is odd because I haven't cried since 5th grade. I am now 16. almost 17 and am a junior in high school.

This might have been one of the shadow people things. I have posted this before btw

  9. House protective?  Demons don't exist to do you favors. :S

I've never seen one, but I have heard that shadows are a demonic presence.  If you ever see it again, you need to call your local priest so he can whip you up a quick exorcism.

  10. "House protective demon"? Interesting.

Shadow people, yes...they don't bother me so I guess I just ignore them.

  11. I did, but it had a natural explanation.

late one evening I was in the bathroom looking in the mirror, only the bathroom lights were on, and the door was open. I moved to pick up my toothbrush, when I saw in the mirrors reflection something run across the living room behind me.

Needless to say, I was startled, and ran into the living room as I thought someone had entered the apartment.

    It was empty.

Shaken, I went back to the bathroom, and looked in the mirror again, and moved to see the living room. The figure raced by again.

As it turned out, there were faint streaks on the mirror, that could not be seen in the reflection of the white wall behind, but stood out against the blackness of the darkened room.

If you look close enough, I'm sure you will find that what you see has a rational explanation.

  12. Several non-paranormal hypothesis for the phenomena of shadow people exist, including optical illusions or hallucinations brought on by the physiological/psychological circumstances of the witnesses.

My sole experience occurred in the early morning hours. I was a pre-teen and waking up when I discovered that I could not move my limbs. Next, I felt what seemed to be an entity or something pressing down or sitting forcefully on my chest to the point that I was not able to breathe.  Through slit eyelids in the darkened room I could dimly see what appeared to be a crouching entity on top of me. Unable to move or draw breath I bean to panic for what seemed a minute or so until the presence disappeared as suddenly as it manifested itself.

In later life, remembering this incident, I discovered a possible scientific explanation for what I had experienced.

One possible reasonable explanation is hypnogogia, also known as waking-sleep. Hypnogogia is a documented physiological condition in which a person is part-way between sleeping and waking. During hypnogogia, a person can be conscious and aware of their environment, but also in a dream-like state where they can perceive images from their subconscious. People experiencing waking-sleep commonly report the sensation of lights or shadows moving around them, as well as other visual hallucinations. A feeling of dread is also a sensation that occurs when experiencing hypnogogia. Hypnogogia is sometimes known as 'the faces in the dark phenomenon' because sufferers commonly report seeing faces while experiencing waking-sleep. Similar hypothesis have been put forward linking this condition to a number of other apparent paranormal experiences, including alien abductions and paranormal nocturnal visitations. Most people who suffer from sleep disorders such as night terrors report having experiences involving "Shadow people" due to this waking state.

Another alternative explanation is that even mainstream science is fairly convinced that there are dimensions other than the three we inhabit. And if these other dimensions exist, who or what (if anything) inhabits them? Some theorists say that these dimensions exist parallel and very close to our own, although invisible to us. And if there are inhabitants in these other dimensions, it is possible that they have found a way to intrude on our dimension and become, at least partially, visible? If so, they could very well appear as shadows. It has long been held by psychics and other sensitives that beings on other planes of existence are of different "vibrations." Science is beginning to look at reality, on a quantum level, in the same way - that particles of the smallest size exist as vibrations. Perhaps, some theorize, the vibrations of our existence are beginning to mesh with those of another dimension, which accounts for the increase in such phenomena as ghosts, shadow people and possibly aliens.

Who knows? I'll save my ghost experience for another occasion!

  13. Yes, and I know other people who have seen them also. You are not crazy, they exist.

I have seen them in several occasions in broad daylight straight on, moving from room to room. It can be very creepy. It scared the c**p out of me too.

  14. All joking aside I too have "seen" something. I lived in Colorado, up in the mountains, no street lights NOTHING that could cause a "shadow"

In the middle of the night, "something" woke me up, so I climbed out of bed and went up stairs without putting any lights on. something made me turn around and when I looked there was this very tall shadow more than 7 ft tall standing at the top of the stairs, a person dressed in a long black robe with a hood, I was so close to it I could have touched it, I was terrified!  I raced back down stairs and woke my husband up, he of course thought I was dreaming. I have no explanation for this. and it never happened again.

  15. I have, I have also felt one.  My husband has also seen one, and so has my daughter.  I would explain all of these circumstances to you, but there is just not enough room on the page.  They did move though.  One did grab at my ankle - in a way to stabilize me while leaning outside to clean a window.  My daughter has drawn pictures of something she has never seen - and I have never seen, but my Mom did remember seeing... long before I was born.  I could relate stories that would blow your socks off!

As I said, not enough pages!

  16. I have seen a few.  They creep me out big time.  I had one in the back seat of my car, I watched it for about 10 seconds in the rear view mirror.  I saw another at Walmart of all places, sliding   along the wall and moving real fast.  I get the feeling that they don't want you to look at them.  I have seen them swirling around peoples heads like the Tasmanian devil in the cartoons.  They look too black, like they are painted black, no light reflection at all.  It's hard to know if they are there or just something that I see only.  I know other people how have seen them.  If you could just slow them down and shine a light on them maybe they wouldn't seem so creepy.

  17. Did you really mean to say "demon"?  How could a demon be protective?  I don't think that demons exist.  Also, regardless of their existence, they certainly don't possess the power to physically effect you in any way.  Imagine how many people would have been harmed if demons could hurt us....Just think of all the evil people who have died.  If the ability existed, surely we would have learned of the stories.    Do you think maybe you saw an angel?  There are tons of reports of angel sitings.  Don't ever be afraid of "the unexplained" or things you think are spirits.
