Yes.  She was extremely depressed and could not see the goodness around her.

Yes. Guy in my highschool waited til mom and dad went to dinner for Mother's Day and gassed himself in the garage in his car. Reason----wouldn't let him go to college of his choice. That isn't the REAL reason cause NO ONE offs themselves for a dumbass reason like that.

Yes, I know of two in my family, and i know of several attempted suicides.

years and years ago, a young women was 17 unmarried and pregnant, so she through herself into the thames. im not sure if i believe that one.

Now, my second cousin. I never got to meet him. I dont know his reasons or even what he was like and I will never ask.

To anyone thinking of commiting suicide, can i just say how ever much u THINK you know, u really have know idea of the devastation and depression your killing yourself will cause.

And an attempted suicide?

Because I had never been so absolutely sure of how much i completely wanted to die in my entire life.

Right after High School, A  guy that I was very close to shot himself in the head, he was 19, there was no warning signs,but we did find out that he was a drug user. We were told that his girlfriend refused to see him any longer because of his drug use, later that day, with his mother in the house, he went to his bedroom and shot himself, it was very sad, he was a gifted artist and a real nice guy, but I guess drugs got the best of him.

Yes and this person was intelligent and talented, but his view and perspective of his life was skewed and he was so focused on himself and his expectations that he could find no meaning for living.  

He was also using drugs occasionally and alcohol, it was a terrible loss.

well i did not know the person but the my best did. so there was this girl who was very depressed that her mother had resently died and she was very close to and her father did not really treat good and took advantage of the girl and treated her like a slave. so one day she got so filled with emotions that she want a local river and jumped into the water and drowned herself by tying a very heavy rock to her foot  before jumping in the river.

Yes, it was my uncle.  He killed himself when he was about 30 by taking too many pills, not long after he had kids.  He was bi-polar all of his life, but of course his childhood didn't help so much.

He tried to kill himself many times before, but that time, unfortunately, he pulled it off.  He missed his daughters 5th Christmas, which was around the time that she started to remember things.  She wanted her dad there.

I know someone who tried to kill herself- she took a lot of pills & was driving had an accident left the seen - went to a parking lot passed out in car- police found her the next morning barely breathing -took her to hospital & her mom had her locked up for 90 days in crazy hospital - all because her mom is a crazy freak witch! She was 17 when all this happened & wasn't allowed to do anything unless her mom was there- if she went to work her mom sit in the parking lot!

My best friend in high school: drug addiction

My grandfather (1 side): investment realtor who lost fortune on land deal

My grandfather (other side): wanted to accelerate his terminal cancer diagnosis

My cousin: drug addiction

A friend who was at Columbine in 1999: couldn't deal with PTSD

A friend last year: returned from Iraq and couldn't deal with PTSD

A friend in January: lost job, custody of children, alcohol addiction

There's more, but I think you can see the general pattern. The number of people I know who attempted is even higher.

I really hope your not thinking of doing this!! I may be a stranger, but I can still care :) Ive been there. I might BE there, but I truly believe days always get better.

Now, I know you asked if i knew about someone who actaully KILLED themselves. No I dont. However, my boyfriend did try to a few years ago - before we met ( I feel the need to point that out) He actually was 'in the middle of' death, when he managed to summon the ... energy? nerve? passion? to survive and dragged himself to a phone. He was very near death.

His reasons were many. Unfortunately, there isnt just ONE reason. I wish there was. If there was just one reason for this, it would make 'the cure' that much more simple wouldnt it? I suppose what I am trying to say is that your asking an exceptionally difficult question. I would love to be able to say that people do this because they are lacking something.  Love, the need to be needed, affection, attention..

In my boyfriends case, it was a wide variety of things, on top of a chemical imbalance that will never be fixed. Constant medication keeps him 'normal'.

People may tell you different answers and 'reasons'. But in reality, only the person who committed suicide really knows. Or so we can think. For all we know, they might not....

Yes, police were threatening to arrest and put him in jail, they bullied and pressured him and he totally freaked out because he and we didnt know of anyone who ever went to jail before.

yes ,sadly.my uncle buddy shot himself i think over guilt for some awful thing he had done.

a neighbors ex wife shot herself this was about 12 years ago cause she was upset her car had been repoed,she left behind 4 children.the youngest was only 2 years old.her daughter found her,the older one who was 13 at the time.it was awful!i think there was more to the story but she is the only one who really knows.

i had a friend i worked with she was a grown woman but never forgot that her father committed suicide in front of her and her brothers and sisters.he sat them all on the couch in a row and shot himself in the head because their mom wanted a divorce.

life is worth living and suicide is a very selfish act.its a permanent solution to a temporary problem.if any one is out there thinking of this please don't!!!! GOD loves you and others do to, give them a chance to help you through whatever is going on in your life!!! GOD bless!!!

i have known a few,more men tho,family.It was over affairs their mates had,as well one from his wife was going to leave.many people do not believe someone could do that over a few nights of play,to a big fight where there told they are not loved by them.but more then most think of it does take a toll on a humans mind.

My brother in law just killed himself almost 2 months ago. It is a devastating thing to have to deal with. He gave up because he couldn't deal with anymore loss or change in his life. The person who kills them self has no idea what it does to the people they leave behind. That is a serious questions and if you are asking it you may need professional help. If your asking it because you recently have experienced the loss then I also think you should go to grief counseling.

I came home from work one day just over twenty years ago, and just as I sitting down to eat my mom called and said that my dad had shot himself. By the time I got to the hospital, he was gone. In actuality, he was gone from the moment he pulled the trigger. Anyway, I never got a chance to say any kind of formal goodbye. And the reason, you ask? Well, he just had a lung removed due to cancer, and complications from that evidently made it impossible for him to continue. But, it's ok. I understand how he must've felt and I forgave him long ago. However, I still think about him every now and then and even dream about him as well. You just never forget...

I know several people that killed themselves. My friend was scared because he was sentenced to 3 yrs. in prison. He did not want to go so he hung himself from a tree!  Just awful! I was very upset about this !!  Another friend was on suicide watch in a hospital and hung himself too !!!!   SUICIDE IS A PERMAMENT SOLUTION TO A TEMPORARY PROBLEM !!!!

You ask a question with a complicated answer.  I know several people who tried but, thankfully, did not succeed in committing suicide.  The common thread that linked their stories is they had experienced major trauma in their lives and did not have the emotional resources to work through the trauma.  Depression is a major factor in these cases.  Sometimes you just lose hope and feel like giving up on everything, and no one seems to care or understand (which just isn't true).  The biggest thing to remember is too never lose hope, no matter what.  You have to trust in the good will of a Higher Power outside of yourself.
