.. and then you see a really annoying celebrity with it and it's put you off?

I wanted to name name son Paris (like Trojan Paris; Paris aka Alexander)

But the Hilton Heiress ruined the name for me :(

I love the name Paris, but my hubby wont let me name my daughter that because of Paris Hilton....So I think I will go for Londyn

I always thought Paris was a cool name for a boy, but the city and the s***k both put me off.

Also Ridley, is kind of a cool name, for a boy. But it makes me think of Ridley from Metroid (video game) so I probably wouldn't use it.

Sort of.

I kind of "invented" the name Eila a while back... someone was trying to combine the names of her grandmothers, and one of them was named Eileen.  (I can't remember the other one's name.)  I looked up Eila and found out it is a real Finnish name, used by a famous sculptor among other people.  (That greatly pleased me, as I generally don't approve of "invented" names.)  I considered using it for a future daughter, especially since I love the name Ella but think it's too common right now.

When I asked what people thought of Eila on Yahoo! Answers, someone suggested I spell it Isla instead (the Scottish way).  Of course, a few week later, I found out there was an actress by that name, so now I'm afraid to use either spelling.  I'd be afraid people would think I was naming my daughter after a celebrity, and I'd also be afraid the name's popularity would skyrocket over the next few years (as Scarlett has).

So, while Isla Fisher has done nothing to annoy me, she's still managed to put me off using her name.
