Have you ever lived in a haunted house?

I lived in a haunted dorm during college - so yes eventually moved out, but chose to live there for 2 years. Weird stuff happened and all my friends (esp the guys) who visited claimed they either felt odd there or saw something. We just chalked it up to an overprotective former student who wanted to keep boys out of our room.

I do... at least that's what my neighbors tell me.  My historic victorian home was built in 1900, has two gravestones in the back yard of people who actually lived here and had children who lived here later, and strangers passing by comment on its haunting.  We've found some eerie messages ("hi kids, I'm okay") and have read that the previous owners buried in the yard were 1) shot and 2) hanged in their early 20's.  All of the doors and windows were nailed shut with multiple nails and locks when we found the empty place.  But I believe spirits can only haunt you if you let them and although I believe they are real, greater power is available from the ultimate good spirit (God), so I don't allow them to bother me.  We've lived in our haunted house (which we bought on Halloween) for 2 1/2 years now and love it!  Its especially fun for telling ghost stories by firelight!

All houses are haunted.  Take a peice of paper and draw a spiral on it then draw a cross through the center, up and down is yes write yes at the top and bottom and then left and right is nowrite that on each side.  take a piece of long hair and place it on a key preferably a key to the home you are in.  Make sure you light a white candle it will keep bad spirits away.  Hold the hair with the key strung through over the spiral and start asking yes or no questions i.e are  there any spirits there... after you connect to one you can even ask them to move the key counterclockwise or stop it in the middle.   try it out it works

o my goodness i have lived in a couple. plates would slide across the counter and smash, etc. and i am convinced that a ghost soldier lived in another one. i was reading the news paper about the wa in iraq, then the tv turned on to some dixie chicks song about a soldier and then it switched to news about the soldier death toll in iraq. i was stunned! i have moved but not because of that. have you had any paranormal experiences?

yes I believe I have.  We lived in the ground level of a three story house.  Nobody lived in the upper stories and we lived out in the country with no trees or anything.  Which is why I don't think that it was someone playing tricks on us or anything because we would have see some sign in the snow or whatever.  

Anyway, we heard typical creepy noises, footsteps and scratches and whatnot.  Things would unexplainably disappear and reappear in a very unusual spot.  My dog barked at nothing in particular which was a little unnerving.  One time I saw the items that were on our coffee table swept off onto the floor.  Another time I heard my mother calling for me in the basement and right before I was about to go down and help her she came in the front door.  That was freaky.  

Yes, I tried to stay at other people's houses as often as I could and I moved as quickly as possible.  I do wish that I could return for a day visit though, just to see if I still get that weird feeling.

No but we were visited by spirits while we lived there.

One of them just moved things around right in front of us. This was a non-recurring thing.

Another one appeared as black as velvet triangle ominously staring with green slanted eyes at my sister while she was trying to sleep. Vibrations eminated out of it (so she says but I think she was in the vibration state between spirit and physical). She prayed three times to make it go away. It came back a couple weeks later.

I think the black one had something to do with a curse my family,especially with the women because they were the only ones who saw stuff like this. Plus, it followed us to a new house we moved into later and visited my other sister.

i lived in a house where there was a family of ghost. they would open the drapes after i closed them and shut doors after i opened them. Then i was looking through some old pictures and i saw pictures of people at a fueral, and then i saw that the person whose funeral it was was me! IT WAS ME WHO WAS THE GHOST! I WAS THE ONE HAUNTING THEM!!!! total mind blow...

yes. my daughter has this recorder toy and she was playing with it and the next day i hit the button on it and there was a voice that said (i'm here). then i had my kids talk into the recorder again to see if we would here more in the back round and he said (i'm coming for you). we put that toy away. then a couple days later my fan was on and i was sleeping and it started to make a noise like something was stuck in it but nothing was. i shut it off. then it went back on. then i seen a spot in the room, i was so scared i almost peed on my self. and yes i still live here but haven't heard nothing since and i Hope writing about this doesn't jinx me...

I would say yes, although I don't know if it was a ghost or something more sinister.  My family and I lived in a house with a mischievous presence, but it only seemed to stay in this one guest bedroom.  Whenever someone went in there, they got injured some kind of way, they got sick, or they heard voices.  We saved that room for annoying relatives.

i have ' felt ' dad in the house where we lived and unfortunately where he died. i dont think it as haunted i think it as he is my guardian angel and where i live now i feel he still watches over me.

Yes,

I had a male ghost in a house that I was renting.  It walked around at night and occasionally was seen at the front door trying to get out.  It actually grabbed my GF at the time during s*x and another time when she was alone down the hall from me.  After she ran back to where I was it follwed her into the room and we both saw it as clear as day.  Needless to say we left that night and never went back.

Yes.  We've had things move in the night, things just 'disappear', apparitions in doorways and rooms when nobody else has been in the house, voices calling names.  We haven't moved because these things haven't really done anything to frighten us witless, and considering we've been there 21 years I don't think they're going to start now.

I lived in a flat that was lived in by a butler who had killed 2 of his former employers. I had a very depressive state of mind whilst living there, was constantly cold and sometimes felt that some one or thing was behind me at times. I only learnt about the mad butler half way through living there but could not afford to move until about 2 years later. Glad I did it made a great difference to my mental outlook.

Yes, I do presently, and have lived here for 10 years now.  I have seen ghostly apparitions move in the hallway of my house, closets and bedrooms.  I had the house built in 1997/98.  No one else has ever lived here and no one has died here that I know of.  

I, my roommate and his sister saw the apparitions from about 1999 until my mom passed away (about 15 miles away from here) in 2004.  I haven't seen the apparition since 2004.  Our opinion is that it was my father who died in 1971 (almost 2500 miles away from here) waiting for my mom to join him.

Weird, but that's our best guess, and I'm not the only one who experienced it, so thank goodness, there's others out there who are nuts, along with me!    d:)

Yes, the house was built on the site of an ancient monastery, and was inhabited by a monk in a black habit and a little boy. The monk used to lean over me when I was in bed, many times I wakened up and felt his presence. The little boy was only ever seen on the upstairs landing and was often crying. I stayed in the house for about ten years and retained it when I bought another house. I have let the house ever since and two tenants have seen the spirits. ( I didn`t tell them when they moved in, both asked me afterwards if the house was haunted) They were kindly spirits and I was never afraid.

Yes. Things used to disappear and reappear days later. I saw some strange things.

My son was born there and when he could communicate used to gesticulate and gurgle to the same corner of the room.

When he was old enough to talk he said he was speaking to "the Man".

We had to leave as the place was being sold. Although parts of the house were scary, there were some places I could go to relax and feel "safe". Luckily the bedroom was one of them!

It would seem that just about every house I've lived at was haunted in some way. I eventually move but they seem to follow anyway.Since I've been in this last place it's been pretty quiet. This one spirit claims to be my guardian. Several times she has used someone Else's female body to visit me in the flesh. Especially when I was sick.She calls herself Gabriel (le) One time she called me one the phone because she was held up by a train. So bizarre anyway.

Yea...I lived in a house with a friend of mine, and we could hear foot steps in the attic all the time, and my boyfriend (x) went up there several times bc we were so scared, but there was never anything there.  So we did Ouija, but never got the person in the attic, but we got lots of other people...I would totally recommend it!

I don't think I have experienced a paranormal phenomenon in my house, but I have friends who tell stories. For example, one of my good friend thinks her house is haunted, because the vacuum turns on by itself, the windows open by themselves, sometimes the lights turn on and off by themselves, etc.
