Have you ever lived in a houseboat?

what was that like for you? what made you decide to do it? what was the longest that you lived in it? anyone here that is living or using a computer off a houseboat now?

I Lived on the water for a few year,s and  the one thing that takes time to get used to is the humidity. know day,s their are Vacuum Bag,s and dehumidifier,s but before them your Cloths felt as if they were Moist. a dehumidifier would Help if you have the room. other then that the patting of the water against the hull at nite will help you sleep like a baby, we currently go on overnight stay,s on our Local lake.

We have lived aboard our 38' sailboat for almost 7 years.  We have full Internet DSL connection at our slip and wireless capability when we are sailing. Offshore you can use radio and satellite connections for email.

lived on our boat for two weeks at a time yes just love life on the water.  Have a mate that has done it for years .Yes do know off people running computer while on their boats as well.

yes it sucks bc u cant go outside and play football or soccer and at night on the marina it really stinks

I am not on a boat now, but I have lived aboard for long periods.  We connected to the internet using a cell phone.  There are lots of places with wireless access if you are using coastal waterways.

I lived aboard for several years and enjoyed it.  Most of the time was spent cruising,  living in one spot was not as satifying.  When we were up north it was great,  evenings under the stars ya da ya da ya da,  down here in FL we spent too much time down below in the AC due to the heat.  At that point we swallowed the anchor and moved shoreside.  

Some marinas have wi fi,  sometimes along the way you hit a hot spot and there was always the cell phone to connect for e-mail etc.
