Have you ever lived in an apartment building that had a 13th floor?

I've noticed that none of the high-rise apartment buildings I've lived in have had a 13th floor. It goes from the 12th floor to the 14th floor. Are we really that superstitious? I guess so.

Also, is this mainly a Western superstition? If you went to a country in Asia or Europe, would you see a 13th floor in a high-rise building?

  1. I think it is mainly a Western superstition. I lived in Taiwan for a while [apartment building] and instead of not having a 13th floor, they didn't have a 4th floor [Chinese superstition]. They did, however, have a 13th floor (:

  2. i don't know about any of that other stuff but they don't even have a 13th floor in hotels..

  3. yeah... it burned down!!!!

  4. No its not just western, its universal!

its like that almost everywhere in asia too.

    they like...skipped the thirteenth floor

i think its because the superstition of the number 13 is widespread, trust me it not just western, almost every apartment skip thirteen.

  5. nope...wouldn't want to..it might collapse or something like that.

    scary stuff though.
