You look beautiful

tonight,

but you won't

say hello.

You once wasted

those precious tears

on me.

I was never

worthy.

Not worth time,

not worth love,

living as shadow.

Waiting for you,

needing you,

unable to speak.

Looking at a photo?  You say you were never worthy yet you state you are waiting, needing...etc.? It says you long for something that you can never have is how I read.  Interesting.

Viewed as a work of literature, this is superb. Considered as a truthful expression of your feelings of helplessness and low self- esteem, it is agonizing to me.

Your third stanza reminds me of T.S. Eliot:

--Yet when we came back, late from the Hyacinth garden,

Your arms full, and your hair wet, I could not

Speak and my eyes failed; I was neither

Living nor dead, and I knew nothing:

Looking into the heart of light, the silence.

I am variously intrigued, in your writings, by the cross-currents in the word `worthy.'
