out of the billions and trillions stars up there, there must be someone, looking at our star, the sun. they too must be wondering if life is possible in the planets of that star.

Definitely. I like to think that people have been doing that for a long time. Some of us look up and think how great it could be to know there's life out there and hope they've somehow got a better world. More peace. Others look up and think, resources, territory and defence.

I think Carl Sagan said that (paraphrase) 'we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Either way is mind boggling.'
