  1. Right well as you know I have met A LOT of them however I can't really be bothered to go into who, where, how and what not!! Call me lazy but it would just take too d**n long. Personal favourites have to be Paul Collingwood (obviously), Ian Bell and Sir Garry Sobers!! Vaughany's a nice chap too (had to rub it in!!)

However I just wanted to say Kevin Pietersen is actually a genuinely nice guy in person. I too thought that he was just a massive ego (kinda like yourself lol) but he isn't. It was a pleasant surprise to actually get to meet him and see what he's really like. Plus he barely talks about himself at all, unless you ask him of course.

LOL your enounter with Mahmood is hilarious!! Why were you hounding him of all people though?! Weirdo lol   :)

  2. yes i have met plenty of cricketers

  3. I've met plenty of cricketers!

Mostly from the Lancashire Leagues though!

    Nobody particularly famous.

Who would I most like to meet? Obviously Michael Atherton. (In case you haven't guessed, I am a big fan of his!). I like the cussed type!

  4. i have met none..........................but i would like to meet saurav ganguly...brett lee.........n shoiab akhtar

  5. I went to school with Gilly. He was a few years below me but his brothers were the same age as me.

Nothing to report,  he's just a normal Aussie country bloke.

I used to work with Graham Wood, but he's an arrogant tosser LOL

  6. NEVER BUT WOUD LOVE TO

    I WOULD LIKE TO MEET ANY CRICKETER.ESPECIALLY,ADAM GILCHRIST,YUVRAJ SINGH,VIRENDER SEHWAG,RAHUL DRAVID,KUMBLE,SACHIN,LARA,INZAMAM,PIETER...

    ALL ARE HUMBLE & NICE

BUT EVEN IF I MEET THE CRICKETER WHOM I HATE,I WOULD BE HAPPY MEETING HIM.

  7. John Benaud(Richie's brother) Brett Lee, Brad Haddin, Steve Rixon.

  8. No mate..I wish though...

I would love to meet David Boon,he is a legend!!Jason Gillespie And Curtly Ambrose too....

And of today's players i would love to meet Matthew Hayden...

He is one very clever player-and he can cook me one of his famous BBQ's,thats after he has taken me fishing....

And believe it or not i would like to meet Kevin Pieterson,he has a certain flair about him,you either like him or hate him...

EDIT: Yes Gazza Roy can join me and Haydo's in the boat...lol

  9. No.MSDhoni.

  10. Ive never met a cricketer. But if I did I'd like to meet Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar together. The heir to Sachin is what Rohit is called in India nowadays. It would be great to meet them together and see what they think of each other. I know Rohit thinks the world of Sachin but what Sachin thinks of Rohit has not been publicly said. I'D LIKE TO FIND OUT!

  11. 1. Kumar Sangakarra

my dads cousin's wife is related to kumar sangakarra and my dad went to the same school that sangakarra went to... My dad was called for a high school reunion and kumar sanagakarra and his wife were going to be guests but we couldn't go because we had to be somewhere else.

So basically i'd love to meet kumar sangakarra because he has an amazing way of thinking... i would love to sit and talk to him..he has a lot to say. I always get the chance to meet him but i never end up seeing him...hopefully one day i will.

    EDIT: Wow to cooldude

EDIT: I'm one of those people who hate running after people and asking them to write their signature on a peice of paper for me... i don't understand why people do it in  my OPINION.

  12. Sure, Brett Lee, & Brad Haddin.

  13. No I haven't, but I would meet YOU if I could!!  LOL :)

  15. Yes. When the West Indies team toured Bangladesh in November 2002, I met the entire team at the airport, just as they got off the plane (my dad worked for a local airline and had clearance to go to the taxi-way). The entourage included Viv Richards, then selector and manager of the team. I also got an autograph from Pedro Collins, in an autograph book that I preserved proudly.

  16. Doug Walters, Denis Lillie, Rod Marsh, Gary Gilmore and Kerry Okeefe (that would make me mid forties aye). Have autographed Cricket bat by Glen McGrath and was coached many years ago by Peter Phillpot in the schools first 11.

  17. Not yet. If i get a chance, i would like to meet Bret Lee and M.S.Dhoni.

  18. I once met Upul Chandana in a party.

  19. Sacihin Tendulkar-legend, very friendly.

Sourav Ganguly - doesn't talk much, very quiet

    VVS Laxman - very innocent

Virender Sehwag - the most nicest.

Yuvraj Singh - abit up himself.

Irfan Pathan - very youthful and happy

    Murali Karthik- cool guy!

Brett Lee - very friendly and nice

Justin Langer- smiley ..he just smiles alot

Steve Waugh- he's a gentleman! very nice.

I would like to meet Dhoni and Dravid.

  20. no

  21. Apparently I met the late great Don Bradman at SCG.  Trouble is that I was only three and can barely remember it.  Worse still no photo.  I don't care, I still count it :-)

Edit: Oh and I used to talk to Bill O'Reilly a lot.  I guess I was lucky my dad got me in as a member of the SCG.

  22. Yeah, I know one and I've met a few here and there.  The one I know, is Shaun Pollock, I used to go to school with him, to Northlands primary and then to Northwood High School.  He is a really great guy.  He is still so humble and down to earth, and he is not very different from how he used to be in school days.

Makhaya Ntini I've met twice and he is always a pleasure to meet.  Such a laid back guy and he's a great and he's always in for some fun.

Jonty Rhodes I met a couple of times aswell, he is also a great guy, also very good with children (saying it from experience).  A classic gentleman.

Neil McKenzie I met recently, and he is also a nice guy.  He's also very polite and great to talk to.

Two people I would really like to meet are Mike Hussey and Michael Bevan.

  23. well i believe i have only met 2, the 2nd one was Dean Jones, he was a speaker at a function our cricket club had a couple of years ago, truthfully, while i sincerly appreciate that he came in to us and signed all the stuff we wanted, his ego is not a rumour, lets say you could see his arrgoance, mainly when he complained to me and 3 or 4 people that i was standing with about how he was part of Australias "forgotten" world cup win in 1987 and that while the guys from 99 and 03 (07 hadnt happened yet) got parades and welcome home parties and stuff, all they got was $2500!!

so as any cricket lover would say, i turned around and told "yeah, but you've done something that all of us in this room will probably die dreaming of doing" (i cant speak for anyone else, but theres not alot i wouldnt do or give to win a world cup for my country! if someone told me "ok you can play 1 test, but you'll have to cut your arm off after the game to earn the chance, i sure as h**l wouldnt think twice!). then came standard "ah yeah i know i know.." response from Jones, and that really disappointed me, that someone was given the chance to do great things for his countries cricket, but still feel like he missed out, i wasnt impressed with that

but the first one i will always remember, it was during the West Indies tour here in 92-93 (i think i have the season right) and Gus Logie came to our school and did an all day coaching clinc, it was a huge thrill for us cos we were the smallest primary school in our area (just under 200 kids) and we had an international cricketer there, but what i think is really amazing is the Gus came out to us in the first place, cos i grew up in a country town, in pretty much the middle of nowhere and 500+ kilometres (i think thats around 300 miles for those of you not using metric) away from the nearest city (and beach), so for him to come all that way to do a clinc for a bunch of kids who didnt really know who he was, i think is a big effort from that little man, and to cap it off, hes a helluva nice bloke to!

to choose one player i'd like to meet, i say Richie Benaud. i would love to sit and chat with him about crickets history and the stories he could tell me, it would keep my attention for hours!!

EDIT: yeah for a group of country kids it was a real thrill to get someone like him out there, also having a look at the coverage on cricinfo, the boy Jimmy seems to have had a pretty good day for ya's, chipped in with some handy runs, and backed it up with the first 6! pretty decent day that! lol

  24. Dear Mr Kooks (I like that name),

I have not met any very famous cricketer. I am sure you mean those of International repute.

Seeing people play-- and, meeting them are two wholly different things. For example, I admire Inzy for his brilliance, but, I'm not sure I would have much to talk, if, I happened to meet him. Maybe, both of us would fall asleep mid-conversation for different reasons!

If I had the chance I would probably like to meet Imran Khan. He is very articulate, intelligent, and has commitment and a clear sense of purpose. I'm not sure if anybody could get the better of him in wit and repartee (case in point Sir Ian Bothman, my apologies in advance in case of disagreement).  I feel I may have much in common with him,( to keep a conversation going- maybe in our language), including cricket  and the influence "Sufi" beliefs have had in both our lives.

    Rehman of Multan

  25. never. its sad!!!

  26. I have met Chris Gayle, Saeed Anwar and Mohammad Yousuf, i wanna meet THE ONE AND ONLY IMRAN KHAN.

  27. of course i met my friend , he is a cricketer who plays for the local metal refinery club.

  28. Sure have brus'

The most well known cricketers i've met are:

Darren Lehmann, Jason Gillespie and Cameron White

Normally you don't get much time to talk to them as there are bucket loads of other guys trying to talk to them as well. I dunno it's kinda wierd sometimes, you can feel nervous when they speak or u feel really excited. Normally i say something like: 'wat's up' n 'how cricket life treating u' and that's about it

However i have played a little game and do some catching practice with whitey on the MCG. (it's part of a bushrangers program for there members). It was cool n you definately learn stuff from the guys.

EDIT: OMG how could i forget. I also got to briefly talk to pietersen during the world eleven oneday game vs australia at the telstra dome. I got his signature and told him that all the english guys in oz were finally glad that england had won back the ashes. he said thanx and talked to a few others before a wicket fell and he was called in to pad up. I was also tryin to talk to freddie but if i remember correctly the ball fired into his hand whilst he was bowling and he had to come off, didn't see him again

Hey Ange, fishin with roy would be pretty sweet as well. I've seen him on tv n he's reeled in some legends
