  1. i know a few... they're quite nice to me because they've been my friends since we were small... luckely i stopped hanging out with them once they started with their bs. Still meet them occasiaonally and they only hurt people within their own environment.

  2. I've met some people who could be called that, generally speaking they tend to leave the general public alone if they are left alone.

The best way to describe the chap i met would be that he's a guy you don't mess about with.

  3. They always love their mother. They don't care about 'normal' people. If they get in their way they will push them aside/hurt them. 'Normal' people are the ones that suffer financially through their activities.

Gangsters are inadequate people who seek their security amongst their gangster friends.

  4. I have known a few eastern European mafia types that were running some scams back in the 70's and 80's in L.A., Cal. a few were smart enough to take the money and run back to their former country when the commusnists left and before they were caught for crimes in the states.

One guy actually bought a factory in Europe for pennies on the dollar.

they will leave normal people alone if you don't get in their way.

Not fun to hang with them unless you are a gangster sort yourself, hard to live up to their lifestyle if you have a normal job and family.

They will try to look for ways where they can use you if you are weak, best to stay away from them like we did. Haven't seen or spoken to any of them for more then 25 years, just hear some rumors about their lives.

  5. There is a website www.americanmafia.com which outlines people known to be involved with organized crime.  I personally know two people listed there.

These people are actually very well respected, and kind people.  They contribute well to the communities, and have done a lot to help out people in need.  I would trust my children with them.

They do have a private life however, if you ask they will deny anything....almost making a joke about it.  "Gangsters" don'e live a life that has been portrayed of them on television and in the movies.  They really do act and behave like any other person.  They don't want to draw attention to themselvs so they don't do anything that will draw attention.  Their conduct their business behind closed doors.  Normal people have nothing to worry about... unless of course you try to s***w them out of their money.

  6. former gangsters, yes. very nice guys actually, quite funny, and really bright. I didn't believe their gangster stories, but they swear up and down that they were really in a gang. but these guys I knew told me that they had put their life of crime behind them, and that they realized one day that it was a waste of time and smarts to be a gangster. Both of them are involved with youth and run very successful basketball camps in Germany, and are recruiters for the professional team where they live.
