Have you ever named a pet after your favorite driver?

Last year before the family went to Darlington for the Busch race, my cats had a couple kittens. Well during the race, my wife became a Tony Stewart fan that night, so I named the little gray boy cat Smoke. Have you done this, come on I know you have at least once.

  1. Yep, I had a little kitten I saved out of a tree and I named it Gordon. For Jeff not Robby.


  2. LOL... Well there was this dog that loved getting pet. (Pettie - Petty) get it? Uh... never mind...

    Serious... he was spotted and his spots look like a 43.

  3. i don't have any pets but my future pets will most likely be named after something NASCAR related

    i have a friend who has a lot of pets and most of them have something to do with Brian Vickers

    i also knew a girl once that had like 3 or 4 cats and they were named Petty (after Adam) Earnhardt (after Dale Sr) Allison (after Davey) and one that wasn't named after NASCAR she named them all after deceased drivers after they passed away

    i know of a few other peoplle who have done this

  6. I tried, the puppy we got for Christmas 2006, I wanted to name him Kyle, my husband and kids wanted to name him Junior, we settled on Charlie..

  9. Two of my cats are named after drivers, not my favorite drivers but still Nascar related. I have one cat named Deuce(Imagine that) and I have a Calico cat named Hermie after Hermie Sadler.

  11. Not really, but I've known dogs by the name of Chevy, Cuda, Yenko, Hemi etc.

    My son named my only cat, a gray cat, Crash!

    Crash Bandicoot is his full name.

    3 miniture finches- Dale, McMuray and Newman; love them all

    and they are alive and still kicking..lol

  13. I've been trying to name my pet Gordo after Jeff Gordon but my mom and my husband (both of whom I have pets with) wouldn't go for it, we settled on MrB (long story) for my cat and Diesel for the dog.

  15. My friend has a poodle name Gordon, she calls him Jeffy, and our Fed Ex driver at work has 2 rescue Schnauzers named Smoke and Denny..Years ago I had a Lab named Fearless after Fearless Freddie Lorenzen.

  16. Yes, I have. On more than 1 occassion. In the past I have had a Siamese cat named Bristol, a cat named Dodge (cause Rusty drove a dodge), a cat named Phoenix, and a dog named Rusty.

    At current my mom has a cat named DJ after Dale Jarrett.

    I also currently have a cat named India, but we usually call her Indy.

  24. One of our litters of puppies we registered as names of different tracks: Talladega, Pocono, Sonoma, Rockingham, Charlotte, Texas, and Indy. When they went to new homes the only name that "stuck" was Talladega who is now called Tallie.
