It seems like the stereotype that "smart nerds" are the ones who are constantly reading books, but to me I just don't see it. The kids at school who read in class or always have a book in their hands are never the SMART kids.. it's usually always average or less then average people.

I remember my teacher telling me in junior year of high school that people who are constantly reading aren't usually the smart ones and he said why but I forget. someone fill me in

  1. i like reading books and i am one of the topers in the class

  2. Nope, I really can't say I've actually noticed that.

But then, maybe it depends upon your definition of 'dumb'.

On the other side of the coin, why is it that there are those who seem to ''need'' to pigeonhole people with such titles as Nerds, Jocks and others. Does this, seemingly! supply them with some much needed air of their own Superiority?

    Sash.

  3. Reading increases your knowledge, expands your horizons, improves your vocabulary, increases your imagination, and can take you to places you may never go in actual life. Reading is necessary for growth mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

  4. Yes, but they are smarter than the people who write them.

  5. I always have a book in my hand and I'm ranked second in my high school (4.10 G.P.A.) and I believe your teacher was a first rate idiot who should go back to college and get a real degree and not one printed of the internet.  In fact, while I'm writing this I've got a book in the other hand (The Judas Strain...I don't think I like it.  Two more chapter to go).

  6. I really haven't noticed that actually. I've seen many people that read books are very articulate and have a diverse way of thinking.
