Here all ATM's have braille, as well as most newer pay phones. Its a good idea. I use the braille on my TV remote alot to be able to change buttons in the dark.........not quite the same thing, but still use full.

Yes I have.  That has always given me a laugh.  If you drive up to an atm, you certainly shouldn't need braille.  Unless the blind guy is the only one sober enough to drive!

There are blind drivers who are designated as being legally blind. Also for your info, all USA coins are different sizes and shapes on edges for a blind person to tell difference. Elevators have Braille, phones, most restaurants have braille menus upon request.

Same goes for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Fire alarms now have both flashing light and audible alarm. Closed captioned TV and movies.

The answer is pretty simple, when you think about it. The face of the machine (where the buttons and the screen are) is pretty much a standard design. The cabinet (the box the ATM is in) determines if it is mounted in a wall, or a drive through. So to save money, a company will build their machine faces all the same, braille lettering included. Some of them will wind up as drive through machines!

Yes. People with sight impairments often take taxis through ATM machines. And, ofcourse, they do walk....

yep & heres an interesting fact! A cop friend of mine told me if I was ever being robbed & forced to go to an atm by robber to enter my pin in backwards- this still dispends the money but automatically dispatches the police!   I thought it was cool, pass it on!
