I have a love affair with certain colours of betta, and have never seen them in the stores after years of looking. I was thinking of trying aquabid or ebay.

Anyone have any experience with these? Did they arrive safe and sound?

Thanks

  1. i wouldnt trust it.

  2. Yes, and it was a betta, actually. I don't think you can buy living things on ebay, but I ordered mine from a store and it arrived safe and untraumatized.

  3. the people who deal with fish shipping are very professional and take very good care of the fish. I would recommend ,http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/aquar... I've bought fish through them before and the y take great care of the fish. you can also purchase shipping upgrades to ensure your fish arrives to your home safely

  4. Yup.  I've gotten Discus and Hillstream Loaches mailed to me, and they all arrived in great condition.  Both of mine came through Aquabid (larryp and blueram06 respectively), and I would definitely order from either of them again.  Check the seller's feedback, as this is a good indication of their quality.

  5. Fish usually survive shipping without any problems. Just be sure to use the fastest shipping method possible- it won't be cheap. Be careful buying bettas online because they often come from Thailand, which can be a more difficult trip. You will have to have a trans-shipper take care of paperwork at the airport. The seller should arrange this for you, but there is typically a fee. Aquabid has a huge variety of bettas, so I would try that first. My favorites are the "Half Moon" type, you might want to check those out.
