I've been on hold now for nearly 10 minutes

Is this one of their tactics?

Keeping you on hold forever in the hope you get pissed off and hang up before you get a chance to cancel?

  1. When you do cancel . they will also bombard you with calls to ask you back before finally giving in

  2. I didn,t have to. They cut me off for not paying the bill.

  3. Yes i am with sky, £10 line rental and £5 for all calls 24/7 to 01/02 and 20 countries including us, can, oz and most of europe, no problems with them and only a £15 @ month bill, broadband connection Free.

    mobiles i use my mobile

  4. yep... waited for about 20 mins... only 10 to go... you can do it lol!

  5. No matter what you call bt for today you will always be on hold my record is 58mins to query a bill. But to buy their broadband service 30secs.

  6. Funnily enough I did just that today! I did get through eventually after six of seven "please select from the following options", but only because I selected the option that they would want to speak to me about, like them squeezing more money out of me, then I announced that I wanted to cancel my account with them. Oddly, the woman on the other end suddenly had the power to offer me all sorts of price reductions and deals- however I have already signed a new contract!!

Best of luck, and please remember "your call is important to us and you will be connected to the next available operator!"

  7. yes bt are c**p! we are on line with tesco its well cheap

  8. Still at least it's a free phone number, not like those companies that use premium line numbers and keep you holding on forever.

It's free, so just hang in there. What else you got to do? What some cr.p on tv?

  9. Yes, I had to cancel the phone in my Mams house recently

ended up talking to some chap in India who couldn't help - got passed back to a very helpful English lady eventually.

She sorted it in no time, but why did I have to go through a totally useless call centre?
