14 team league! Sounds crazy right?! Well, that's what I'm getting in this year for the first time-has anyone done this before, and how was it?

  1. Yes. It is a real FF league that costs $200 to get in. Very tough league. Must draft 4 Rb 4 WR and 2 of everything else. The transactions cost you 3 bucks. By the end of the year the only RBs left were 3rd stringers. It really stresses the importance of drafting RBs early and often.

  2. Yep, just make sure you do your research.  The top 50 or 70 guys aren't so important, because everyone will be gunning for them.  Get to know your sleepers and up and coming stars.

  3. I've done 12 but not 14.  How big are your rosters?  The main difference with bigger leagues is that you need to know more players; the stars are more spread out.

With 13 other teams, you'll be able to trade a lot.  When you're drafting, pay almost no attention to what positions you need to fill.. simply take the best value on the board.  If that means you draft 4 RB's and 6 WR's but don't have a quarterback or defense, do it.  You'll be able to find SOMEONE out of 13 people who has what you want, and wants what you have.

  4. ummm yeah.... it all depends on the settings fella. not all that exciting

  5. Yes, 14 isn't horrible.

16-20 is when it starts to get pretty absurd.

Like any draft you should practice Value Based Drafting, and try not to reach early for players that might slide.

You'll find yourself taking more risks if you are slotted in the back half of the draft, just to compensate for the thinner pool of talent available to you.

I have found that larger leagues tend to trade more.

  6. Sucked man. Only like 3 or 4 guys that I would consider starting in a 10-team format. Best of luck to you!

  7. yeah those are the best leagues...i won't play in any leagues under 10 teams...you have to know guys names like mike furrey and shaun mcdonald (wideouts for the lions) yeah most football fans never heard of them...i got third last year in a 20 man league with the todd collins as my quarterback...todd collins replaced jason campbell at the end of the year last year when he got hurt...also know names like kolby smith backup running back to larry johnson.
