that you have to be 18 to do lots of things but u must be 21 to purchase liquor?

Like you can be drafted into war, vote in an election, purchase cigarettes at 18 but you have to be 21 to buy liquor?

What do you think?

I think they should all be either 18 or 21. Smoking and Drinking are typically the same thing cause they both cause you to die sooner.

  1. True, but getting a buzz from tobacco and getting drunk are two totally different things. As much as I would love for the drinking age to be lowered to 18, and have realized the same things you have, it isn't going to happen anytime soon. There are too many counters to your argument.

  2. I agree. I think they should raise the smoking age to 21 because, like you said, its going to kill a person anyway. I guess maybe its about getting the tax on those ciggs.

  3. i think its not right.

you have 'responibilites' when your 18

but have to be 21 to buy alcohol?

    total crapp.

  4. thats excatly what tupac said

  5. UK laws let you buy at 18.

Goody2shoes here gave up almost everything.

Geeze is that the time?  Better get walking to work (too cold out there can I give that up for today?)

  6. As I see it...

If a person is old enough to get into the military and go fight for our country, then they are old enough to drink or smoke if they so choose. But I have always been against some of the laws we have in the USofA. (For the land of the free, we sure have a lot of dos and don'ts... mostly don'ts!) Otherwise, if they just want to smoke and drink, then I think the legal age should be 21 for both.
