  1. I have.  The Dr. should of told you first how long the stitches were to stay in for.  Never take them out early. Sometimes its safer to take out alternating sutures one day, wait 24 hrs and if all is ok remove the rest.  Just keep an eye on you wound though for it reopening or infection.  It wound be safe to have a package of steri strips on hand or tape initially incase your wound opens up because they can't sew you up a 2nd time and you are at a higher risk of infection, so go ahead Dr!!

  2. Yes every time i had them, i also remove stitches from other people who don't want to make the trip to the doctors...I have also put plenty of stitches in and removed them on a professional level, i use to work in surgery.

  3. Removing stitches from an area like your hand is okay, if you are very careful, and if you do not take them out prematurely.  However, I would not want to recommend people do that with areas that might be sensitive to infection.  When you have stitches, it is good to keep them covered with Bacitracin ointment until you take them out.  That will help to reduce scarring, and prevents infection.

  4. I did! It was fun and cheaper

  5. no i think it would save money though

  6. yes i have but i got my friend to do it instead of myself

  7. People  do it all the time!  It is fine to do it as long as the site looks like it has healed and theres no signs of infection.

  8. I have not but I would.
