  1. My problem - I can't ever find anything in my purse.  I'd be sure to lose the dog in it too!

  2. I think it is awful to put a dog in a purse. a dog deserves a good life, not a life in a crate or purse. my dog only goes in his crate when no one is home, and it is so sad to leave for school knowing he is in his cage. he is a 1yo yorkie from the pound. his name is charlie

  3. ive thought about buying a purse for my dog. hes old and he cannot walk very fast or far without getting tired. he weighs about 10lbs so after a while carrying him makes my arms tired, so a purse is logical. also in the winter time where i live it gets very cold and the snow gets pretty deep, so he sometimes has a hard time walking in it, as do i, so once again a purse would be logical. plus, some dogs love their little bags and jump right in. i think its cute.

  4. A "Purse dog" Hmm? What are those? Oh yeah they should be called stuffed dogs, a dog is a dog and if they have to pee, they should pee right in the bag on their owners glittery accessories!

  5. Ell oh ell. This is a funny question.

Well idk. Thats is why I don't do that.

I don't think dogs should be treated like humans

They don't like it wen you put clothes on them

And i hope the next person who puts a dog in a purse finds some stinky stuff in there.

  6. I typically wonder why on earth that girl feels like she needs to carry that dog in her purse. I mean, what happened to the poor dog that made him lose all his legs so he can't walk?

Purse dogs make me angry. Not healthy, I know, but dogs can walk.

I hope the dog pees in her purse. Serves her right.

ADD: I'm not predjuced against little dogs. I love little dogs.

But they have four legs, do they not? They can walk, can't they? Carrying is NOT the same as stuffing them into a purse!

  7. Try to stick them out of the purse-fast!If you know the dog well enough, you should be able to tell when it needs to pee!

  8. Haha, I have never thought of that.  I'm pretty sure they would just go...they would in a crate...they will in a purse.  I really wish people wouldn't carry their dogs in a purse or in a stroller.  It's such a terrible idea and very inhumane.

  9. Yes, little dogs can walk, but if you are taking a longer walk, maybe your dog can't handle it. I don't think they should be carried like that all the time, but everytime they need it...yea. You people need to get a life. Or how about you ask someone you know who does that. I do that sometimes, if I need to hide the dog, for instince if I go into a store. My dogs just tell me if they need to pee, by getting antsy.

  10. Well, by the same reasoning, what if your big dog is standing on your expensive carpet and he has to pee, pronto?  He asks to go out, right?  So does the little dog, in its own way.

For those prejudiced against little dogs, (like say, Poppy)  I think it's important to remember that dogs are bred for different reasons and different purposes.

I have both ends of the doggie spectrum -- a Mastiff and Chihuahuas.

The Chis love to come on dog walks with the Mastiff, but they can't walk as far as we can so yep, they end up being carried.  What's the big deal?

  11. lol I have wondered that.

My dog loves to be carried and always hops in her bag, but I hate carrying her in it, it looks really weird to have a head sticking outta your purse.

  12. Yeah, that would be poetic justice I think.

I like real dogs - ones that can walk.

  13. Yeah, I can understand, a little dog may sometimes need to be carried.  But to get a small dog for the express purpose of having a "purse dog", just to have a certain image, is wrong.

And I have another question- the dog needs to have his/her own purse to be carried in, right? (Something with a waterproof liner.) So then you have to carry a regular purse with your money etc, then another purse with the dog in it?

  14. LOL, You made me laugh no I have never thought about that but I have thought why. I thought that's why dogs have legs.

  15. Not but I have thought, "I wonder how often she has to clean that" and "Why don't you put your dog on its legs you dumb cow"

  16. Honestly, I AM one of those teenage girls who loves the puppy purses.

And I DETEST it when people label it as treating a dog as an acessory. It CAN become that way, but simply *carrying* a dog isn't evil.

I don't see people protesting regular carriers. So what's wrong with having one that looks like a purse? The function is the same, and I promise you, dogs don't think it's wrong. I have a dog who PREFERS a carrier over walking.

And what about those really tiny dogs? Don't you think it's just a *tad* irresponsible to let a 2 pound dog walk on a busy sidewalk, with bigger dogs and stepping feet? No. In that case, a carrier is NEEDED.

I *do* think it is cruel to COMPLETELY deny a dog exercise, but most of us dog-carrying people DON'T keep the poor dog locked up in a purse all the time, contrary to popular belief.

Not only that, really TINY dogs get most of their exercise indoors. A yorkie doesn't need a daily run to be happy. They can run around in the house and play with their favorite toy and have their exercise requirements met.

So PLEASE, leave us purse-puppy-carriers alone.

  17. Yes, I think about purse dogs quite often, and it makes me really angry. No dog should be carried around in a purse. If it needs to "go" then it'll probably "go"! What would that amount to, maybe a tablespoon on p*ss down in the purse...

A collar and a leash is the best bet.
