  1. Yes.  When I was about 12 my cousin was visiting from the city.  She didn't swim very well, and we both decided to go off the diving board on the deep end.  After she got into the water she panicked.  I dove in after her and pulled her to the side before the lifeguard even saw what was happening.  It was really scary.
