  1. yes. a man was choking and i could hear ( my back was turned) people patting on his back asking if he was ok.. i just went into focus , I'm answering this because what bothers me, at that time i worked in a family restaurant.that night i found out i was the only one w/ CPR/life-guard training. not only that the law in my state (Ohio) requires the first aid choking poster to hang. well, a locked office does no good . shouldn't all or at least one person on shift be required to have a certificate ? well, that's my story.. peace to you..

  2. Yes! When I was about 12. We were on a family vacation, swimming...lots of kids in the pool...I saw a small boy go under the water when his hand slipped off the wall. I swam over & scooped him up. Parents never even saw him go under & were freaked out when they realized. They were making all over me & my parents =)

My hubby & his brother just recently rescued 2 guys while fishing. Their boat tipped & neither could swim (life vests anyone??!!) & my hubby & his bro dove in & swam them to shore. My husband said they were thrashing around so much they almost pulled them under too. What's shameful is that there were quite a few other people around but no one else made a move to help.
