.... that keeps their eyes closed and their hands still, surely they would be able to concentrate their mind powers more easily without distraction if they did that?

it impossible

    the laws of phisics clearly state that an object cannot move without some force acting upon it. Therefore the idea of something being moved by concentratng on it is proposterous, if u see someone do this, it is a parlor trick

Pyro is right in that the laws of physics dictate that in order for an object to over it has to be acted upon by a force. But telekinesis does use force, just force of the mind. Therefore it is technically possible to move something through the power of mind, if the mind is capable of generating some force that can move an object.

While I have parlor tricks I have never seen anything legitimate. As far as telekinesis and related subjects like levitation go, I am pretty skeptical. I won't say its impossible though.

I haven't seen anyone demonstrate anything that I'd solidly classify as a demonstration of telekinesis. However, I have seen objects move with no apparent cause and been unable to debunk it.

It's enough to raise a question of whether or not it's possible. Too bad nobody will pursue that question to its end.
