Have you ever seen God?

When I was little I had two instances where I talked with a being that I thought was God or an angel. Tell me your experiences. I guess it could have been a ghost but for some reason I've thought it was God my whole life. It lead me to seek out churches even though my family did not go to church. I would find any little friend at school that went to church and talk them into taking me. I went to probably 6 different denoms before I found the one I still go to when i was 16 (I am now 43). Anyway the being told me I'd go through difficult times and that I would get through them alright to just have faith. Of course that is pretty general now that I am older to think about it, but it was true.

I don't really want to hear from atheists (they don't interest me) I just want to know about people who think they might have talked with or seen God.

  1. READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! agree its long but worth it and it will answer u............

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty.

He asks one of his new students to stand and.....

Prof: So you believe in God?

    Student: Absolutely, sir.

    Prof : Is God good?

    Student: Sure.

    Prof: Is God all-powerful?

    Student : Yes.

Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

    Student: Yes.

Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?

    Student: Yes.

    Prof: So who created evil?

    (Student does not answer.)

Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?

    Student: Yes, sir.

    Prof: So, who created them?

    (Student has no answer.)

Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you.

Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?

    Student: No, sir.

Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?

    Student: No, sir.

Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God?

    Student: Yes.

Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn't exist.

What do you say to that, son?

Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.

Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

    Prof: Yes.

Student: And is there such a thing as cold?

    Prof: Yes.

    Student: No sir. There isn't.

(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat.

But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go

any further after that. There is no such thing as cold . Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of

heat . We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy . Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it .

(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)

Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright

light, flashing light....But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? In

reality, darkness isn't. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?

Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student: Now tell me, Professor.Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)

Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.)

Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?

(The class breaks out into laughter.)

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir.

With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable. )

Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.

Student: That is it sir... The link between man & god is FAITH . That is all that keeps things moving & alive.

  2. I had an exprience when i was about 5 or 6.   I had a dream of Jesus and i was standing on a rock patio and he walked out the east bigger than life  HE WAS HUGE and it was the most peaceful and loving exprience i have ever had.  Also when i was growing up,  I had a hand that would touch my face as i was falling asleep.  It never alarmed me. I think it was Jesus or my guardian angel.  The touch to me was symbolizing that everything would be fine.  It was a loving touch.   Hope this helps.   God Bless & peace to you!

  3. I have never seen God, but I do believe he exist. I have seen many things that can not be explained so i am a believer in the paranormal and supernatural.

I do however believe i see God in part in many things. like his compassion in the eyes of a mother holding her new born.

His understanding in a calm summer rain. His artistic ability when i see a mountain landscape. His knowledge in each of us when we are confronted with a young child asking why.

His forgiveness when the sun breaks a new day. just to name a few.

  4. I once saw black catbag in the fireplace.

    Now I'm blind.

  5. Asking to see God is like asking to see Love...  He's a little bigger than what you can comprehend...   He doesn't look like George Burns or Morgan Freeman...

I too saw what I though was a guardian angel.  She was an old woman with silver hair and blue eyes carrying a huge tapestry bag.  She showed up at a railroad station and helped me get on the right train after I had a VERY bad run in with some very bad people when I was doing something I probably shouldn't have been doing...

I told her how much I really needed to meet someone nice right at that moment.  She put her hand on my shoulder and said, "I KNOW ALL ABOUT IT, but YOU can TRULY thank me by really accepting Jesus Christ as your lord and savior..."  Set me back a bit...  But didn't sink that she had said "I know all about it..." till I was on the correct train after she had walked away and seemingly disseappeared into the crowd...

  6. Here's the thing...God isn't a person...or a spirit as we know the term...I mean, he is but he isn't.  He is everywhere, in everything and in each one of us.  We are led to believe that He is a king of sorts that sits on a throne when actually I feel this is false.  He is energy in its purest form...and can't really be seen...which is why we have encounters with spirits and angels..they are His messengers, if you will.  I'm sure you've heard of the term "The Light"...well, that's what He is.  The Light.

  7. Yes I have seen God. Not just in the fiscal sense's but in the little things, like how the something works water falls, storms, every day events. Read the poem High Flight. I think he tells it well.

  8. Yes he is within yourself.

  9. Yes! check out the International Lamdoma Research Institute. Thats what God looks like to Pythagoreans. Listening to Indian music made me have a profound experience and God revealed him self to me thru the vibrations of the strings.

  10. Every day.

I do not believe God is out there in space sitting on a great white throne.

I believe God is the energy that flows through you, me, the chair I am sitting on, the computer I am using, etc.

All I have to do is stop and look carefully, and I see God every day.

  11. WOW! Oh you're so fortunate. Thanks for your story, because so many people keep these experiences a little quiet because of the nature of them. wow! You know children get quite a few visits, and like yourself they saw and believed and followed.

After my friend's dad passed away, he told me when his dad was 9 a blue light appeared twice in his room. After he saw it the first time he ran out of the room and into his parents room. There his dad told him to go back, not to be afraid, and to ask the light if it comes again, what it wants. So the boy went back into his room and about 10-11 minutes later a small blue light began to glow again up in the corner of the room.  The boy is now staring at the light, his heart pounding, his eyes wide open, and he remembers his fathers instructions,"when you see the light don't be afraid, ask the light what it wants." The boy in a barely audible tone says,"what do you want?".

The light responds back and the boy is told,"IN THIS LIFE, YOU ARE TO GIVE LOVE."   Then the light after a few moments fades away, and the young boy carries this experience with him forever. His last work he was a church greeter well into his eighties. Every Sunday he would greet the congregation going into the church with a handshake, and he would say,I love you."

  12. I don't think that I have, but this little girl has (if you've never heard this story, you have to read it!):

Scroll down and read the original story in the gray box.

  13. I have seen two angels before. They are real.

According to the old testament God does not allow people to see him. The tabernacle featured a curtain, behind which God appeared above the Arc containing the Covenant of Moses. (Ex 26:31-36) When Moses would travel to the mountain to speak with God, God would never appear to him directly. In Exodus 33 Moses asks to see God, and God says, "You can see my, but I would have to kill you afterwards" (Ex.33:20) but because he needed Moses to have confidence in him to lead the chosen people, he allowed him to see his backside.

  14. My boyfriend told me that when was little, there was a garden that was struggling and was having a lot of trouble growing. He said that he was playing outside one day and that he saw Jesus watering the garden. He asked the others around if they saw him as well and of course they said no. A few days later, the garden flourished and grew beautifully.

  15. I believe that you were speaking with God when you were little.God clearly says in the bible that "you must become like little children to enter heaven"I know that God has been with me my whole life(I've never seen him)but I have had dreams where he was telling me something and it would happen a few days later(I just knew in my dream that it was God or Jesus.Nothing other than God would lead you to a christian church,if you are not in a christian church,It was not from GOD.

  16. On September 3, 2003, I saw my gardian angel. I was walking to my new job and she said to me "big day today?"  I said "yes ma'am, it's my first day at my new job" and kept walking. I turned around 2 seconds later and she was gone, there weren't any driveways or cross streets, she just disappeared.
