Have you ever seen a raccoon without a stripy tail?

I was on my home home a few hours ago when I saw an animal about the size of a cat that clearly was not a cat.I've been going nuts ever since then trying to figure out what he was. He had a long snout and was very fuzzy. He was either grey or brown...not sure because it was dark out. When he walked he sort of waddled back and forth as if his back legs were a little longer than his front legs. I was thinking maybe a raccoon...but no stripes as far as I could tell. So I don't know... help me out.

What was he?

what state do you live in and the nearest large town. you can google wildlife animals for your city/state. i have a feeling it could be a number of other critters. i doubt it was a racoon as well. if you can update i will check back and look online.
