  1. I dream about them too! but I've never seen one, I would like to though

  2. when I was a child, one passed over my grandparents house almost directly above us, and sawed off the tops of the trees in their backyard, destroying parts of the house

  3. I've never seen one

and i really don't want to either

  4. No, but I've seen the storm which produced one.  I had a tornado pass about 1/2 mile from my house.  It did a lot of damage to the town it hit, but only brought down a few limbs where I live.  I watched a rather large tree move around the trunk, but it stayed put.  Yes, it was scary.  I live in Missouri, by the way.

  5. I saw a tornado off at a dstance when I was a kid. I saw a waterspout which is a tornado off the coast of Mississippi. Now I live in Washington and we hardly ever have them.

  6. Nope, I hope I never do.

  7. I have seen several. 2 in the past month. We live in North East Kansas, and they are common this time of year. They had to shut down part of I29 highway due to high winds. The Tornado's were blowing Semi's off the road. On Mothers Day, we had one about 1 mile away from our house. We could see it moving along. Luckily, the path it took wasn't near any houses, just farm land. It lasted about 2 minutes. They are really something to see. They can be beautiful. The Sun, can still be shining, as the storm front comes rolling in. I would rather live here in Tornado Country, than in an Earthquake prone area. At least we kind of know what to expect when a storm comes. The possibility of a Tornado is there. An Earthquake can happen without ANY notice.

  8. Yes I saw a tornado in Kinsley KS in March 2004 and I was living just south of OKC during the storm in 1999. They are scary but also very exciting and I dream about them from time to time too. As long as YOU are safe seeing a tornado is really an honor, its a beautiful force of nature.

That said, I had family who lost everything in Greensburg KS last year and they are not something you want to mess with. Safety first.

  9. No, but I live about 15 miles out of Parkersburg, Iowa, and I can guarantee you it's scarier in real life.

  10. nope and i hope to never..thats why i will never live in the midwest

  11. Nope, never seen one.

  12. No and I don't want 2

  13. Yes ... I have ... and it was scary, likely not as scary as it might seem in a dream.

The dream might be your brains way of saying that you need to have a plan in the event that a tornado is near ... the fear of not knowing what to do will cause anxiety.

Although most people are unsure of what they will do in a specific emergency, having a plan and practicing it are the best solutions for this. If you already have a plan and have done it, there is no room for thought in that situation ... you do what you planned to do. "freezing up" is the result of trying to figure out the best way to handle an unknown situation.

Tornadoes are a little scary, but you can put an end to the dreams with a little work - you might even find them exciting in a way.

  14. Yes, but it was pretty far away.

    Cheers!
