Have you ever seen a total eclipse of the sun ?

We read that there was a total eclipse of the sun today which was visible from some parts of the Earth.

Have you ever seen a total eclipse and did it have a life changing affect on you ?

1998 - no it had no real impact on me.  Just glad to say I lived long enough to see one.  A curiosity, no more really.

I have seen sun eclipses before. But the one that was really freaky was the moon eclipse, as it turned burgundy color. Scary.

I saw the one a few years ago, mind you it was not so full for my location but most of the sun was gone. Used a welding mask to look at the sun so we did with a few of the nephews and neices. they may see one when it comes around again this side of the world doubt if I will be around do at teh end of the century really

Yeah, but it wasn't quite a total.  I saw the same one Bill w did.  But I was in northern alberta.  But I still had to go to school, possible blindness was not an excuse to miss school in my family.

yes i've seen one, like in 1998 or something, i was visiting my grandma in france. Totally cool. I love stuff like that, it shows how big and diverse the universe is and just how little we still know.

that was a beautiful clip. thanks for sharing! i was lucky enough to see an eclipse when i was in grade three, the only time i've ever gotten to see one properly for our location! it's was amazing and it certainly got me interested in astronomy. it's just a hobby for me but it's something i absolutely love!

The closest was in the late 70's when I was in grade 1 and my mom and dad made us kids stay home from school so that we wouldn't look at the sun.  This is in southern Alberta, where it was a partial eclipse - the totality went through Winnipeg, two provinces over to the east.

To be honest, it was really amazing and all, but it really didn't have a life changing effect on me. though because i was so young it did cause me to learn about a lot of stuff to do with space
