I've been looking into astrophysics recently, and the high-science says it wasn't a bang at all, so you needn't worry yourself. The term big bang was brought up by someone who was trying to criticise the idea, in the 1950's, that the universe came from a 'singularity' (or very small point, like a seed). So he called it just a big bang thory, and ironically, the name stuck. Although scientific findings suggest that the universe did come from a very small point, it is better to conceive that our universe 'grew' or expanded as space expanded.

Well if you use the other sense of the word "Bang" yes many beautiful babies resulted and are still resulting.

They start with a bang, fly into the sky, have another bang in light, expanding; and eventually like all things fade and fall to earth as dust & ash.

How about the Lutheran Revolution?  Martin Luther's hammering (banging) nails into the church....

The theory explains the origin of matter from gases...

As far as I've understood, (not being an astronomer or anything) the most beautiful thing to result from a bang was our universe.

Apart from that, even though most bangs are destructive, you can still appreciate the beauty of fireworks, (BANG!) and a supernova (BANG!) among other pretty bangs.
