  1. You will find it in the larger Supermarkets, like real,- or Karstadt.  It is called maisgriess, and not griess.  Griess is called semolina in English.  It normally is found in the international section, where the American, Russian and Turkish foods are.


  2. Cornmeal is called Griess in german. Just check the regular grocery stores.

  3. You can sometimes get it at wholefood shops (Bioladen, Reformhaus etc.), so if there's one near you, that might be worth a try.

  4. Try stores that have Italian ingredients.  Polenta is Italian style cornmeal, and it works in a lot of American dishes.

  5. Most major grocery stores have cornmeal.  You usually find it in the ethnic foods section and it is called Maisgrieß in German.

  6. I am fairly sure I saw some at the Activ grocery store here in Stuttgart. Its a chain so they should have it there too. Good luck.
