Hello.

Have you ever seen anything in the sky that seemed a bit OMG to you? I know I have! One night when I was brushing my teeth, I saw a massive blue light with loads of little pink lights around it! Looked like a UFO!

Have you seen any? Let me know if you have!

  1. Anything that you cannot identify in the sky is a UFO.  However, a UFO is unidentified, and to be a space ship, it must be identified.  That is, you cannot assume that something that you cannot identify must be a flying saucer.  This is the least likely correct answer since there is no physical evidence for space ships of extraterrestrial origin.

  2. yes i saw something quite unusual several years ago, a bright ball of light that was motionless for a very long time, as i looked through a pair of binos, dunno what it was but not of this world!

  3. I saw gravity waves, pretty cool natural effect.

  4. Yes, on three occasions.  They were most unusual.  But since I am a rational and naturally curious person who doesn't rush to the first implausible explanation I can whip up, I stuck it out until I was able to verify what they were.

Yeah, people like me never get to have any of the fun. We just end up with a bunch of boring old facts.

If you e-mail me, I'll tell you about them.  See if you can figure out what they were.  The vast majority of people would have been claiming ET UFOs.

  5. I saw the sun one time .... that was quite strange ;-)

  6. I have been an amateur astronomer for 45 years and have never seen anything in the sky that cannot be explained very simply.

The only time I had an OMG moment was when I saw the rings of Saturn for the first time, I was about 10 at the time,

Get yourself a decent telescope if you want to see OMG things.

  7. I've seen an orbiting man-made satellite with my un-aided eyes (aside from my normal glasses)

it is possible to see them - (now I'm curious if there's an onlineinformation resource for showing where to look for man-made satellites) - it was pretty cool

  8. hi

i was on holiday in France, countryside and saw 2 blue light going around each other. but i couldn't say wat it was because it was a bit far.

  9. Weirdest thing i have seen was at 4am one morning and i woke looked outside and saw red lines falling from the sky very close too, then when i watched the news i found out it was a meteor shower.

    It was really lovely

  10. I wouldn't call it a UFO. But when I was little me and my father saw this solid red light, ON CHRISTMAS!  He told me it was santa.  I still don't know what it was.

  11. I am always looking out for strange aerial objects but have seen only one I could not identify. It was so far away it appeared as a speck even through my 8× binoculars. It was quite black and by the way the profile changed slightly as it moved, it must have been an irregularly shaped object. The only thing I could imagine it might be was a bunch of black balloons that had not separated on launching. I've never seen any other kind of airship or dirigible that was so black. And who would launch black balloons, and why?

  12. i was in birmingham once and i saw a ufo , later a local told me it was the sun.

  13. Hi Lover,

    TRUE STORY.

In about 1967 on a sunny summer day around noon, the whole sky suddenly went black. Everywhere was pitch black like the dead of night.

We thought the world was coming to an end. Evey one in Manchester witnessed it - it wasn't just me.

    EDIT 10 mins later:

There was an explanation revealed later but whether it was true or not - who knows? The explanation will appear here in tomorrows YA answers if the question isn't closed by then.

EDIT - NEXT DAY - EXPLANATION

It really was scary. It was just like when the space ship arrived in 'Independence Day' except it was much darker. It lasted for about 20 mins. Traffic was in chaos as they were no street lights etc

The explanation given by the authorities was that there had been a huge sand storm over Africa which had caused billions of sand particles to be sucked up high into the atmosphere which then blew over to the U..K. and hovered over Manchester,

    Mmmmm....I wonder?

  14. yep.

a long time ago, my dad pointed out a lone black cloud in the sky.

not standing still, but not moving excessively.

it was a tornado that touched down 50 or so miles away.

when we saw it, it was just the cloud -- there was no funnel attached.

and it was moving toward the place where it touched down.

    really interesting.

    at least i think so.

as for aliens in UFOs, i doubt it.

if you were to take the space shuttle to the nearest star, it would take you 175,000 years to get there.

we're not going visiting, and no-one's coming here to say hello to us.

  15. yes

  16. i saw a flashing white light in the sky, and it was completely still for ages, like an hour (i didnt stay there for the whole hour, i kept looking back) and then it suddenly dissapeared!

  17. One night I saw a spark in the sky that flew away like an extremely slow meteor. I know it wasn't a meteor because it was way too slow. I heard no sound, and saw no blinking lights to signify an aircraft. It was like nothing I had seen before. It was an Unidentified Flying Object.

Was it alien? I seriously doubt it!

  18. Absolutely!

  19. Not since Amy Winehouse went into rehab, she was usually higher than a kite.

  20. Not in the sky, but in the sea. True, we were on a boat of the coast of Cuba and saw 3 lights in a triangle shape that keep darting around a very high speed. good job I had brown trousers on.

  21. we had this going on for quite a while where I live, and a first it was claimed it was the aeroplanes from the airport, but it was proved wrong. Then someone said it was one of those large cranes with a light on the top so the aircraft don't hit it. In the end it was a Chinese lantern. when you light the light inside the warmth floats the container - which is made of paper.

  22. I saw a streak of light for three nights in a row and on either side was a star and at the end of the streak was a star, the streak appeared to be moving each passing night. At first it looked like a cross but then it changed to look like a pendulum.

  23. OMG! Yeah, I was outside at like in the morning, it was quite dark and i swear a huge hole appeared in the sky and sucked the moon up :O and I'm not joking, please take this seriously I'm telling the truth

I sound like a nutcase, but I'm not lying (:

    xx

  24. I was having a beer in a pub alongside the Thames and this shining spinning object was hovering about 50ft above the river. It was my first beer, it was broad daylight, and I was absolutely cacking it.

It turned out to be this bloke with this special kind of kite - I've never seen a design like it before or since - and that's a bit of a shame 'cos he could have sold a few in the pub I promise you!

  25. I have seen the hands of Jesus forming in the sky and I believe its the king.

  26. omg yer, i was toally freaked. At first i just thought it was a bird, but i looked closely and realised it was a person, maybe superman, what am i thinking, NO WAY! But i definatly saw something, ges what it was.... you wil nvr believe me.... but it was a tesco trolley that has been blown up soaring through the sky... haa, how retarded ey!
