  1. Most things you see are by reflected light, unless you are looking at a source of light, like the sun or a light bulb (computer monitor), or a fire.  These produce light and emit it.  The moon is seen by reflected sunlight.  The same as when you are outside during the day, if you see trees or people or rocks etc, it is by reflected light since these things do not produce their own.

Look at your own hand, are you looking at your hand or a reflection of it?  Same thing.

  2. whenever we see a planet... a star... or even the moon, we are seeing the reflection of light. in the moon's case, it is highly reflective. the sun shines light on the moon. the moon picks up white wavelengths (and grey too this is just an approximation it actually absorbs many different color wavelengths) and then reflects them back to earth. so we are seeing the moon's light which looks exactly the same as the moon itself. so yes you are seeing the moon.

  3. Whoever told you that must be pretty dumb. What do you think the reelection is? Of course its the actual moon. Don't be so gullible.

  4. i think what they meant to say is the moon reflects sunlight so we can see it.  it is the real moon, but it only glows because of the sun.  otherwise it would not be visible

  5. Well-er,ah once.

  6. Your friend is correct and I can PROVE it;)

  7. Ahhh but the smart question would be: What is reflecting it to our sky? If no answer, then it is the moon.

  8. the light from the sun is reflecting off the moon, illuminating it.  It is the moon we see.

  9. What we see of the moon is the light it is reflecting from the sun, but if you're not counting that as actually seeing it, then we don't actually see anything.  Everything you see is a result of reflecting light in different ways.  This is why you cannot see things in the dark.  So even though what you are seeing is the moon reflecting sunlight, you are actually seeing the moon if you're going with the definition that all you see is light reflected off an object.

  10. You see the moon the same way you saw the person who told you you don't see the moon.  What you actually see is the light reflecting off the object.  The same applies to anything in the universe that does not create it's own light. So, technically he'd be correct, but practically you're seeing the object itself.

  11. yes and it's so beautiful no actually it is the real moon we see  it's the light from the sun that reflects the moon and the  moon shines beautifully :)

    have a great week (:

  12. no its not a reflection. what you see is the actual moon. the reflection the person was talking about was probably the light the sun casts on the moon during the night. thats how were able to see the moon. hope its the answer you wanted :)
