I want to start a marketing company. I have a product that is great, but is very hard to get in front of people. I want to start a marketing company and try to get whole sale on papers, mags, radio, tv and us mail advertising. Then I can offer things at a lower price to get my foot in the door and offer my product.......

What would I have to do?

A: to start the company?

B: to get whole sale on paper, mags, tv and radio ads.?

(I live in California)

Thank you very much for your help.

  1. I started my company in 1995 and catered to small businesses that cannot afford large advertising fees.  The best way to start is by cold calling and/or developing some type of informational material to hand out (brochures, business cards, etc.) to friends, family, co-workers, etc.  The best way to get vendors to give you wholesale is to call them and explain what your company has to offer (i.e. large companies business, ad space, etc.-- an "eye for an eye" strategy is a great way to put it).  Basically, if you are offering something (be it a continued customer or free advertising) the vendor cannot turn down...then you start to generate and build your list of contacts.  Cold calling them and not being afraid to ask questions always worked for me.
