  1. i broke both my legs snowboarding when i was sixteen.....i'm still doing it now and i'm 26..

  2. compound tib/fib fracture in 2004 while snowboarding. couldnt go in 2005 but have been going ever since even though i have a titanium rod in my leg. there are risks you just have to find out if they are worth it to you.

  3. If you are not willing to take some nasty spills, than you shouldnt be on the mountain on a board or a pair of skis.  Falling is part of skiing and snowboarding, and there is no way to avoid it.

  4. I fell all the way down the stairs. It was so scary. All i could think about is "ahh ima die" but of course i was over exaggerating it. The next thing i thought of was snowboarding must be scary if i thought this fall was scary.

  5. I've fallen 8m off a cliff face and landed flat on my back...

Hasn't stopped me getting back up the slopes and carving it up...

I guess it really just depends on your mental threshold.

Anyone has the ability to get back up and keep going, but it's the mental barriers stopping them.

  6. i've taken a lot of nasty tumbles snowboarding and skiing.... i've had snow burns from when i lost control and went face first down a mountain..... but if you give up, you're missing out on a fun activity... part of the fun of snowboarding is wiping out... i mean, i kind of enjoy it..... take baby steps at first getting back into it, but its definitely something you should give a second chance...

  7. I was on a half pipe and I screwed up the landing and fell straight on my back (didn't break anything luckily just knocked the breathe out of me) but still scared me so bad I definatly thought it was too dangerous for a bit

  8. If you've just begun snowboarding you are going to fall A LOT! My suggestion is to wear a helmet, they only cost $5 a day to rent. Also work on your balance by getting a 1/2 moon ball that sits on the floor and you exercise with it...it helps your balance tremendously! If you still don't want to try it maybe try "blades", they are short skis and much easier to balance and control. Good luck!

  9. oh yeah i took a lots of nasty falls, many times i thought i was never gonna get up again but i did and rode again and that's what is all about. So go get out there and ride ASAP :-)
