Have you ever taught English in Brazil?Or another South American country?

Im looking into spending some time teaching English overseas and would appreciate anyones advice or stories they have about doing this themselves.I currently speak only English,but im keen to change this.

I've taught English in Argentina, Peru, Uruguay and Chile. I have worked for a group of British Schools which offer overseas exams such as IGCSE (Cambridge University International Examinations) and have currently finished a master's degree on ESOL (English as a second language). It is really important for you to learn Spanish a.s.a.p as you need to understand their mother tongue to see language patterns in your teaching. What kind of job are you looking for? In most countries in South America there are plenty of Language Institutes where you can get a job. Most of the time they look for native speakers even if they dont have proper qualifications as ESOL teachers. English language has become more popular in South America and there are more schools and institutes offering English as a "first language" vehicle of instruction. Good luck!
