  1. Oh, definitely.  I even tried applying to a bunch of different cruise lines a year ago.  It takes a very social and professional person to pass their standards.  The perks of traveling the world and meeting hundreds of other staff around your age seems hard to beat.  Staff also get random off-days where they can leave the ship and walk around the port city - it's pretty much an amazing job, but you'll most likely be away from home for long periods of time.

  2. I took 2 cruises on Holland America Cruise Line.

I asked myself  the same question you are asking.

I applied, and actually worked for Holland America as Cruise Staff.

I liked traveling, I saw the world and got paid to do it.

I met lots of really nice people, and made life long friend.

The best, was meeting my now wife.  She was a passenger!!!!

  3. Yes i thought so

  4. for 10 years I did that.

    It's cool.

    some are not exactly "luxury"

not at all to be honest.

    but some are nice

A good way to start is Hardings, they run shops on some 50 ships, it's not bad, you are staff and not crew, which is better, you usually do not work while the ship is on port, due to tax regulations and you can use passenger facilities like Bars, Gym etc.

you can apply directly using the site: www.hardingbros.co.uk

interviews are on the phone, unless you live in the UK.

It's very easy, just gotta be polite, speak English and a little retail experience helps.

I've worked for Carnival as well at the reception but it's a lot more work and less money.

Hardings pays 160 pounds (320USD) a week, plus commission.

Starboard runs shops on more ships (and bigger ones too) but it sucks, it's a terrible work place, the pay is bad, workmates hate each other... don't go there.

    good luck

  5. Yes, if you are a people's person.  I've looked at some websites, i am really interested in working on a cruise ship.  Can you give me some tips?
