I'm from Albania, and it is a very beautiful country with wonderful history and white sand beaches. This year I've seen tourists from different countries like:France,Sweden,Italy,Croatia,Montene... etc.Tirana is its capital and it is one of the biggest cities in Balkans. We're working too hard on making Albania better for us&visitors.Last year I& my family were in Budva but it was a discusting place&beach.Albania has small bays with clear water and its 1000 times better than Montenegro.

  1. no.

  2. I have never visited Albania, but some of my close friends have - on business. Their impressions were not exactly flattering but I don't want to ruin your day by telling you about it. Trust me when I say that most people who have visited your country may admire its natural beauty, but anything apart from it - is not exactly flattering.

Everyone thinks their country is beautiful, it's only understandable. But not everybody has the need to run down other countries in order to sell their own.

Personally, I don't like Budva but ONLY because it's too commercialized; other than that, it's a beautiful place. Saying that it's disgusting is just not fair.

Your last statement that 'Albania is 1000 times better than Montenegro' reflects a young person. That just may be your excuse for speaking nonsense in public.

  3. Trying to "sell" your country by saying it is 1000 times better than another does not do it any favours

Montenegro is beautiful and it is a shame you feel the need to sell Albania at this cost.  I know the Balkans fairly well and love spending time there.

I have not been to Budva specifically, but from the pictures alone online, I can see it is absolutely not "disgusting" and as a result our definitions of disgusting are obviously very different

I do hope this is just an isolated opinion and not a indication of the Albanian mentality.  If it were the case then it would be a major off-putting factor for me to ever visit there

Secondly Tirana is not one of the biggest cities in the Balkans!  Not by far either in terms of population or size

Just looking at capital cities alone you can see it is smaller than all of it's neighbours'capital cities Sofia, Podgorica, Sarajevo, Belgrade, (http://en.wikipedia.org)

                     Size                  Population

    Belgrade 3,222.68 km² 1.576.512

    Podgorica 1,441 km² 136,473

    Sofia                 1,349 km² 1,346,665

    Zagreb                    641.29 km² 779,145

    Sarajevo                    141.5 km² 950,000

    Tirana                      41.8 km² 607,467

P.S. http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travelling-and-... "Albania does not have a blue flag operator, and there is no recognised similar system of assessment of beaches. However, several beaches along the Albanian coast are reported by the Albanian press to be polluted as a result of inadequate sewage disposal and treatment" -> That is my definition of "disgusting"

  4. Yes, I've been to Albania, I've visited some of the southern cities and villages and of course Tirana. I think it is a beautiful country and also the people are very polite.

I have never visited Montenegro, but friends who've been there tell me it's lovely. So, what the other users told you is correct, it's a good thing that you're trying to advertise your country to foreign visitors but you mustn't put other countries down or make false comparisons.

  5. h**l NO!!! NO WAY!!!

I completely agree with "bla bla"! Just read her answer, its so true and so great.

Albania is so dirty country and I don't wanna get some disease!

p.s. Tirana is not one of the biggest cities in Balkans, just read what "bla bla" said about it!
