"Don't Make Me Tell" - hopefully another acrostic sonnet

Captivated, I still stand before you,

Admitting my final, crushing defeat.

Never regrettng pain you put me through,

Time won't stand still; we'll never again meet.

Sleep in my arms, let's make love one last time,

Appeals to gods of earth won't keep you near.

Yesterday my love for you was no crime,

Grief cannot be as close a friend as fear.

Open the gates that keep flood waters still,

Obey not the forces that would bid you leave.

d**n my love, go now and do what you will!

Believe me, I will cope, although I grieve.

Yet in the end, tell me, what have I gained?

Everlasting scars, and a soul so stained.

  2. do you want me to be your secret mistress forever, even not being able to see you?

  3. I see pain in the words and search for the pain in myself... it is there and the words show forth my own hurt... yet I am the one that hurts others I have found. That is why, when I feel pain for my own wounds, I feel another pain in that I have made wounds myself and now others must bare them... so I try to cope with my own pain in my own self for to ask another to help would be to ask something I do not deserve and should not receive... and yet I wish I could still... deserve help, that is. Your work, as always, tells the world how they can feel...

  4. You are a marvelous poet, In touch completely with your human

heart. that pours out in each poem you write.

Yet life is of the bitter/sweet especially when we chose it more to be. This poem rates Bravo

  5. You are so gifted; you have such a haunting and powerful voice. This acrostic sonnet is so perfect in form and has a depth of feeling that most words struggle to attain.  I truly hope there is never an end to your poetry.  Thank you.
