  1. Hi there. I have at least 3 nice pictures of lightnings.

The first one on 1999, using a 35mm film SRL, just used a cable release and leave it shutter-open on a tripod on the balcony for about 5 minutes. But you can't do that on digitals.

I have two more with digitals using both the 2 seconds intermittent shutter release (press-2> second open>shutter closes>press again>etc).. on a stormy night you can get one or 2 nice pix out of 100 shots. There's a more difficult method of trying to get the lightning as soon as it strikes, it sounds impossible but yields the best results... always use a tripod and a shutter speed of at least 2 seconds. I'm posting a link to my last stormy picture taken in Venezuela like 2 months ago.

  2. im lucky if i can take a photo of people without them moving away because they are bored of waiting its so slow.

  3. Yes, I have. Use a tripod and find a place that is safe to observe but not get struck or rained on. Leave the shutter open and hope for a lightning strike. Don't leave it open too long or everything will be washed out (No pun intended). Try different exposures of a few seconds down to 1/2 second or so. You want a good picture of the sky, but you also want a lightning strike in the photo. Good luck!

  4. Yeah yeah i hav...... Hold on...... I dont own camera so no i dont think i have.......

    OK?

  5. Yes I have, only once though. I was out and we were about to go eat dinner a few of years ago when I saw an approaching thunderstorm that seemed kinda strong. I kept snapping pictures (with my Kodak EasyShare, remember, this was a few years ago), until I finally got it. I'm guessing it was just plain luck and good timing, but it was an awesome picture! I wish i was able to upload it, but now my camera is screwed up, but before it broke, I printed the picture out and it's somewhere.

  6. i have tried to many a time but it always seems to miss completely or just turn blurred, i'm unsure what settings would be best,

i only have a normal digital camera though,

  7. Yes. I have actually caught some decent ones with just my phone, a Razr.

  8. Yes, I set myself a project of trying to photograph lightening when I bought a digital SLR.
