THE DR PUT ME ON PROMETRIUM..... TO HELP ME HAVE MY PERIOD SO THAT I CAN HAVE A BABY, I JUST WANED TO KNOW IF ANY ONE HAS TOOK THIS AND DID IT HELP YOU.

hi,

i am a CPhT of pharmacy, and i am currently taking 10 days of provera (medroxyprogesterone).  provera works in the same way as prometrium, only prometrium is usually only taken for 5 days.  some people i have heard have had a better response from prometrium where the provera didnt give them a period, or gave them bad side effects such as cramping, etc.  prometrium gave a lot of people their periods quicker than provera which is 4-10 days after the last pill.  prometrium was usually 3-7 days and with less side effects.  i, personally, havent had any bad side effects with provera except my mood swings!  you may want to watch for those with prometrium too because these drugs are pumping progesterone hormone into your body when your body isnt used to getting it (thats why your taking it).  of course, you arent taking it as long and the people on provera, so you may not have to worry about that many side effects for 5 days.  

oh and btw, prometrium wont make your body ovulate. it only gives you your period.  if you have irregular periods it is probably because you are not ovulating as you should.  in that case, you would need  a prometrium/clomid combo.  prometrium wont help with ovulation which is what you have to have in order to get pregnant.
