i haven't done so, but i did find something incredibly funny once. driving down a street in vegas i saw that someone had put a "construction-type" boombox out with the trash (well, in vegas, that's how you give something away - nobody bothers to take things to goodwill - someone will pick it up ;-).

it was pretty cool - it had the heavy duty pipes all around it, pretty good speakers, and an input jack for cds or mp3 players. it was sort of a primer white color. so i picked it up.

took me a while to figure out what i think its story was...

the radio had been painted to cover up the fact that it was a "jeff gordon" item - it still had a "24" tag attached to it. my guess, someone saw it was a nascar item and bought it for his or her significant other. whoever received it must have hated jeff gordon, painted it to get rid of the "gordon-ness," then decided he still couldn't stand the thought. so, it got kicked to the curb...

so, have you done anything like that? how and why?

  1. Me personally, no.

But I have a sticker on the window of my car of a little man mooning people and it says, "Kiss this if you don't like Kyle Busch" I swear, I really do, got it on ebay.

Anyway, in the aftermath of Richmond, I came out of Target, and found lip prints on the sticker, lol..

Harmless, but ammusing none the less.

  2. --i tossed a kevin harvick license plate

into the recycling bin. no explanation is

    needed. ick.

  3. Nope.......I have threatened to. I have just never been given anything with a car number or driver that I didn't like. I have had many threatened to buy thing for me that I in turn said I would burn & send them the ashes back.

In fact this woman I have know my entire life, had like 4 miscarriages. She & her husband decided to stop trying to get pregant & 10 years later the found out they were expecting. They ALWAYS threatened to buy me Jeff Gordon stuff, knowing I can't stand him, but they both love him.

So I actually bought her baby a little onesie & a pair of socks with Jeff Gordon on them. I begged my mom to mail them the very next day just to get them out of the house. Instead she decided to wait 6 months before we went down to see them to take them to her. Talk about tourture. Just knowing there was a Jeff Gordon item in the house was depressing.

I always said that had it been anyone but her I wouldn't have bought that then. But sometimes you make concessions. That was mine.

  4. Just this past week I was cleaning up my desk at work and I found my Tony Stewart pen/pencil holder. I got it at Toys R Us. It's like 4 tires stacked up and you put the pens and pencils in the center (hope that's clear enough).  Anyway, I trashed it. I was a big Stewart fan.  Maybe I will be again.  I don't mind most of the stuff he does, and I love that he's so passionate about racing. But I really, really, really don't like the way he takes out his anger on people that had nothing to do with whatever just happened, like reporters, cameramen, and the like. He does it regularly, though he has gotten better. But to me, that's abusive, and I just can't stand it. So, yeah, I threw that thing away.  I still have his diecasts, though.  In a box somewhere...

  7. I actually used to have a pic of the 48 car on a dartboard last season. Ok, I'll admit it I found a 1/24 scale 18 car at WalMart a few weeks ago and knocked it off the shelf, then accidentally stepped on it a few times, then put it back on the shelf.  Hey what can I say it didn't move out of my way fast enough and my sneaker got loose.

  8. I used some fireworks to blow up a #97 Sharpie car a few years back when Kurt Busch made me really mad. I didn't like him in the first place, and when I found an old model car of it, I just couldn't resist. :P And now...I actually kind of like Kurt. Go figure...

But yeah, I'll be the first to admit, I was an idiot back then.

  9. sorry no
