Have you ever traveled with something over the 3 oz. liquid limit and have been allowed to change the container?

I recently took a flight and had a container of brand new, expensive facial moisturizer that was 6 ounces in my hand luggage. I was forced to throw it away.

If this ever happens again, what can I do if anything?

  1. They will usually allow you to ship it to yourself and there are normally shipping envelopes available at many airport security stations for this reason. To avoid the problem,  I always try to put all liquids and gels in my checked baggage to allow me to move through security faster! : )

  2. You can change what you carry to a smaller container, but nothing that is over 3 oz capacity.  However, it's not something you can do at the airport...you have to do it before you get there.

IF you are at the airport and have forgotten to remove something or change bottles, you will be  forced to throw it out...that's federal regulations.  They don't have to let you on the plane if you don't follow the regulations.

  3. good day

Its such a pain in the rear to fly now days...I always have a hard time packing nowadays. I did buy a bunch of 3oz plastic bottles and try and put my must haves (which is a pain) into the darn things...always go on line and see about any new restriction before you travel...happy trails...
