  1. I agree with the above answer although when it comes to the train being dated I think thats a bit wrong because they spent over 1 million on each train when they where first built so they are going to try and make them last as long as possible and it depends what train you get on some are newer than others.

  2. I've been on it three times, twice to Paris and once to Brussels.  Its brilliant... from St Pancras station which is just beautiful, clean and elegant, the train itself which flies past cards doing 70mph on the motorways, through the tunnel and into the middle of Paris or Brussels.  If you're a fan of trains, you should make sure you do this trip before you die!

Last time I was on it with a bunch of friends and we spend pretty much the whole trip in the bar carriage drinking beer & jack daniels out of a bottle and they didn't say a thing.  Beats sitting in a plane seat, battling through customs and the baggage handling area, and then taking an hour to get to the centre of town!

  3. Yes, and it was 'comfortable'.  We traveled in the 1st Class and although it was comfortable, it just seemed to me that the interiors of the coaches looked 'incredibly dated' !  Dowdy colouring maybe.

After the expense of rebuilding St Pancras Station, I was quite amazed at what I saw and thought of as the 'limited amount of modernisation work' done at the Gar Du Nord.

The train was of course fast, on time and comfortable ~ and the staff were very both lovely and nice and helpful too. But, on the whole, I was not 'impressed' ....and even disappointed in not being impressed.

    Sash.
