Have you ever truly enjoyed being out in a hurricane?

Hurricanes are beautiful and powerful. Have you ever just enjoyed sitting on the beach as one roared in?

Well, not on the beach, but I've sat on the porch during a hurricane. I mean, it's pretty nice. You know to go in when a stop sign comes flying by or something.

oh yes its lovely sitting on the beach getting blasted with sand and being hit by shingles.....come on.

During my 30 years in Florida, I never once evacuated (my home, not my bowels) during a hurricane. Fortunately, where I lived on the East coast never took a direct hit. You sure are good at wave makin.

No....but I sit on my front porch and watch the rain and flooding where we are!!

As one who grew up in and still live in a hurricane prone area, I have 'enjoyed' being out in a hurricane but have never been brave enough to sit on a beach during one.My brother looked at the sky one time and predicted a hurricane before the radio told us to expect one. He suggested we go for a swim. During that swim, my nephews gave me their 'treasures' to hold-shells, a baby crab and conch. One of the treasures got finicky and frightened me.I panicked and they got free.I walked along the rocks and in a shallow pool I found a gold ring that was quite heavy [ maybe18- 22K] and probably belonged to a male. During Floyd, the winds pushed over our banana shrubs and hog plum tree. While I was standing on the patio, I watched the wind grab our guinep tree forcefully and like a dentist, pull it out of its mooring.The tree fell, knocking down the fence and power lines.We were without electricity for eight days! However, we survived; and I have some photos as memories of that day.
