I know its suuuuuuuuuuper expensive. Like 1000$ bridles and $5500 saddles. Is it just the brand, like designer hermes handbags that makes it so outragous, or are they actually really nice. I've never seen a hermes in real life, but the pictures in dover make them look really unbalanced.

  1. Yes, I use Hermes tack whenever I show. The stuff is super expensive, you're right. It just means that I don't use it on hacks or when we do heavy works. I only use it for shows and if I have to do a demo.

You can't tell whether or not a peice of tack is balanced from a photo, with Hermes, you get what you pay for.

  2. Dont waste your money. You could get another horse or 2. You can get a saddle that is in just as good as condition for a lot cheaper!

Hermes is like coach or Gucci.

Dont get me wrong I love designer brands but  I would stick with a crosby or collegiate maybe even a barnsby?

  3. Hermes tack is really, really, nice!!! A friend of mine has a Hermes Corlandus and she loves it! I haven't ridden in one, but I have sat in one on a stool and it felt so amazing!! The staff is also nice too. My friend wanted to get another one that actually fit her horse, so she sent back her old one and got a new one with a different size to fit her horse, she didn't have to pay a thing!! I wouldn't go with the Colliegate brands, as Arabian filly reccomends. Colliegate had been around for along time and has brought up a reputation of poor quality work. They were decent when they first came out but over the years the company has become worse and worse, perhaps because they were purcahsed by Bates/Wintec. Bates/Wintec are also poor saddles, very cheap leather, if you're buying Bates, and the CAIR panels have been known to leak.

If you have the money to buy Hermes, then do it!! If not, then try another company that has the same quality, only cheaper prices. Albion is a lovely saddle company that many people like. Custom Saddlery (www.mysaddle.com) is a fantastic saddlery that customizes the flocking in order to fit your horse, I ride in the Fitted VLX and I wouldn't buy another brand of saddle they are so awesome. Passier makes a lovely bridle. Crosby makes nice hunter/jumper saddles, they've been consistant over the years in their craftswork, they actually owned Colliegate before it was sold to Bates/Wintec. Niedersuss makes a nice line of dressage saddles that alot of people like. I used to ride in the Symphonie but grew out of it skill wise.

But Hermes Tack is very, very nice!! Definately worth the money!!!
