Have you ever used PRO STORES?

Like the ebay merchant website, is it good? is it legit? how much do they charge a month? I couldn't find that answer, please help!

ProStores offers data base driven websites which are bad for search engine indexing. That means that none of your product pages would be found by search engines which would be the main means of your traffic.

They charge anywhere from $10 per month to have 20 products on your store to $250 per month. You are basically selling products for them.

You would be much better off building your own online store.

As I explained on another Yahoo question here, it's actually easy to build your own online store. Here was my answer I gave to him:

First you have to build the website. This is very simple especially when you download a pre-built storefront template from TemplateMonster.com.

With a pre-built template all you need to do is copy and paste the product images and specifications onto the web pages.

Then simply add a shopping cart program which will be provided by your webhost. Godaddy.com provides both affordable and reliable webhosting for as low as $10 per month along with the shopping cart.

One of the keys to building a successful online store is to build a static estore as opposed to a database driven estore. A static website is when you have a webpage for each product.

A database driven webstore is when products are pulled up on the fly but from your webstore however those pages won't be indexed by search engines.

With a static estore, each page will be indexed by the search engines. Search engines love websites with many pages. This also gives you the opportunity to optimize each product page for seo positioning.
