  1. i have bben there to go and take the ferry over to the island of capri and ishica , and i went to pompeii and the herkuclean city ruins and mt.vessuvius loms over the city smoking

  2. yes, its beutiful, full of buildings, streets, cafes, museums, parks, factories and telephone boxes

  3. Yes, I liked the coast area and much more  : Sorrento and Capri where I was by train (to Sorrento) and by boat (to Capri).

  4. Yes - it's got the narrowest streets I've ever seen.  It was only a fleeting visit and I'd love to go back.  There are some areas where you can see (and smell) the sulphur emissions coming from the rock.  Got to try the Pizza there !!!

  5. I haven't personally but my parents where there during the summer and they where not impressed with it at all.

  6. Yep.  I found it to be dirty, unfriendly, and not very comfortable (safety wise).  I would not tend to stay there again.  Instead, I would stay on Capri or the Amalfi Coast and take the train to see the Archaeological Museum.  Nothing else really interested me.

  7. no

  8. Yep...sure have.  I've been living in Italy for over 10 years and went to Naples about 8 years ago.  It's dirty, polluted, and get ready to see stray dogs everywhere.  I didn't spend a whole lot of time in Naples itself...but toured Pompeii and Ercolano, which are well worth it.  Seeing all of those dogs was really sad, though.  I've heard Capri is awesome if you can get out that way. Happy travels!

  9. Yes, I have been there. It is definitely a city with its good and bad points.

    First the good:

    1. Napolitana food is great. The people in the south of Italy really know how to enjoy their food. You will find plenty of great pizza (calzones are my favourite) and gelati in Naples.

    2. Character -- the city is a place with a unique feeling to it. The streets in the centre are crowded with people of all types. Their are many streets lined with hawkers from Ethiopia/Morrocco/Northern Africa and you can pick up some cheap fake designer labels here. People are very passionate and can be very friendly. I recommend just putting the map in your back pocket and getting lost down all of the narrow streets.

    3. History -- the castle by the main port is a great spot to check out.

    4. Proximity -- you can easily head to Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento or Capri from here.

    But also the bad:

    1. I was lucky enough to have my watch stolen here. Thankfully it was a designer fake Rolex itself! I can't say I wasn't warned first by the friendly guy at the pizza restaurant I was at the day before. Naples is known for being a place to watch your personal belongings more than most parts of Italy (and I have travelled around a lot of Italy). It also reportedly has a large mafia population (though not as big as Sicily) - not that this should concern nor bother you.

Definitely a place to visit and experience!!

  10. Yes been three times in the last 3 years. They have the best pizza in the world. Its very dirty and lots of pick-pockets in central areas. They have amazing buildings that are basically derilect due to location but if developed properly would be fantastic. My friends live there - here's a tip....wear two pairs of knickers and keep your cards and money in between them - can't be stolen if they are there. Definitely go its great.

  11. No but have been to many other places in Italy and Naples is supposed to be lovely, and I'm sure it is as Italy is such a fabulously beautiful country.

  12. i'm italian and i visited naples... the town is big and cheap ..beatiful... it isn't a safe town ... you have to  to capri ischia positano...
