  2. Yes. The U.S. Botanic Garden in the Nation's Capitol.

    It is beautiful.

  3. If you ever visit NE Ohio, there are three gardens I can think of right off the top of my head.  The Cleveland Botanical Gardens.  Stan Hywet in Akron.  (a century old mansion with well tended grounds)  and the O.A.R.D.C.  This is a branch of the Ohio University in Wooster Ohio that deals with veterinary sciences and plant sciences.  Therefore, they have an ENORMOUS "garden" people can go through.  There is a huge collection of roses (more than a hundred), a Rhodie/Azalea walk, hundreds of crab apples and many, many other trees and plants.  Because it is a college, some trees are being studied, so don't be surprised if you should encounter a class while traveling through.

Now that I think of it, there is another mansion with a big garden in Mansfield.  But I don't know its name.  And how can I forget the Holden Arboretum?  That is east of Cleveland, 3,000 acres or so of gardens, woodlands, and swampland.  Trails loop through these areas, providing access.  So that's that from my neck of the woods!  Anybody else have any places to visit?
